Tommy, a 7-Year-Old Chihuahua Mix is Looking for His Forever Home

Meet Tommy, a seven-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs about six pounds and is a huge snuggle bug. He was surrendered to a municipal shelter after his family no longer had time to take care of him. Tommy is being fostered right here in Hoboken and is ready for a second chance journey towards finding a forever home! About Tommy

Tommy loves affection, so he can cuddle all day long and will follow you around the house like your little shadow just to be in your presence. He’s the perfect lap dog and loves to be pet while lounging together. Although Tommy is mostly low energy, he will show his spunky side when he wants to play a game of chase.

He needs a quiet home that’s experienced with rescue dogs. An experienced household with kids above the age of 16 would be best for him. He is hesitant at first when greeting strangers, but with time and patience, he comes out of his shell. Tommy would benefit from having a family who will continue to build up his confidence around new people.

Tommy is fully house trained and lets you know he has to go potty by waiting at the door. He also walks perfectly on the leash. Tommy prefers to be the only pet in the home but will tolerant being around another dog or cat who does not want to play or interact with him much.

To begin the process of adoption for Tommy or any of the other foster pets currently in-need of a home at Wise Animal Rescue, fill out an application here. Please note it typically takes at least two to five days to process your application.

Adoption donations range from about $300-$600 which helps defray the cost of veterinary and foster care and are tax-deductible.
