 The Easter holiday is coming up this Sunday, but that doesn’t mean festivities can’t commence all weekend long! We’ve got something for everyone this week: yoga, outdoor cocktail tasting, open mic at the park, art + more, followed by an Easter Sunday best spent with your loved ones. Wherever this week takes you, we hope it’s another great one, but here’s the top 11 things to do in Hoboken + JC this weekend to get you started.

Betrayal, Presented by Mile Square Theatre at 1400 Clinton Street: Running now – April 23rd  

Hoboken’s very own Mile Square Theatre {1400 Clinton Street} is running it’s production of Betrayal by Harold Pinter now through April 23rd. Starting at the end of the story and working it’s way to the beginning, this darkly humorous and dramatic play follows {backwards} the entangled affair of this trio of actors, played by the super talented Dena Tyler, Matthew Lawler, and Aidan Redmon. Tickets are $30/ $18 for students and seniors. Discount Parking available at The Harlow @ 14th and Willow, and at Little Man Parking at 1300 Jefferson Street.

Dress Donation Drive + Prom Prep Rally & Styling Event at Hoboken High School: Thursday, April 27th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Hoboken Girl Helps is hosting a Dress Donation Drive + Prom Prep Rally Fundraiser to help out Hoboken + Jersey City high school students who need it most. You can get involved by dropping off any old dresses {gently used or new} and other formal wear, including cosmetics + formal accessories. Once all donations are collected, a fundraiser at Hoboken High School will take place on April 27th for the teens to come out and pick out their dream dress, along with other necessities for their big nights {formals, proms, homecomings, etc.}. Any small donation can make a huge difference, so if you have an old bridesmaid dress laying around, this is the perfect opportunity to put it in good hands and help out. Drop-offs will take place at the following locations/times:

  • Hoboken High School from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM M-F
  • Boutique Realty {537 Garden Street, Hoboken} from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM M-F, 10:00AM-4PM Sat

The recent onslaught of cold and damp weather left the opening date of Pier 13 a little iffy, but with the promise of 70-80 degree temps this weekend {thank you, Mother Nature!}, Pier 13 is opening for it’s 5th year. Bring on the food trucks, microbrews, “lawn” games, balmy evenings, and of course, the most stunning view of NYC. Open this Saturday from 11 AM – 10 PM and Sunday from 11 AM – 8 PM. Meet artist + Brooklyn native Robert Nardolillo at Hoboken Historical Museum and check out his incredible watercolor paintings that beautifully depict the city of Hoboken at a free open reception this Saturday afternoon. If you can’t make it out this weekend, no worries: his work will be on display at the exhibit up until May 21st.

Easter Services at Downtown Community Church in Jersey City: Sunday, April 16th at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM

Downtown Community Church in JC is holding Easter Services this Sunday at 10 AM + 12 PM, for anyone who wants to attend. There will be kids classes, and free parking, coffee + breakfast available, so head on over for the service before your brunch plans!
