The Hoboken Bride: Esthetica MD Skin Care Regimen

We’re back with another edition of The Hoboken Bride. This time — it’s all about skin care. Every bride knows the importance of a good skincare regimen before the big day. I was never a big skin care person as far as getting facials, etc, but in my 27 years of sun exposure, I have started to realize it’s WAY more important than you’d think — and I try to get a facial at least once per season {if not more}. Because of that, I knew it was time to bring in the experts for my wedding.

The Hoboken Bride

To prepare for my big day, I’ve started going to Esthetica MD {located in Englewood, NJ — 12 E Palisade Ave to be exact}, which is a cosmetic medicine, aesthetics, and medical spa in Bergen County that offers facial treatments and rejuvenation procedures, as well as products for the face, neck, and body. Although a little off the Hoboken-beaten path, Esthetica is about a 20 minute car ride from Hoboken, and a very fun little escape at that! I had first heard about Esthetica MD on the show The Doctors — because Dr. Jennifer Ashton is a regular client there.

Okay, back to (zen) business: if you arrive early, I wouldn’t sweat it — since the waiting room is absolutely perfect. Mirrored table + purple velvet chairs? YES PLEASE. It’s an interesting combination of  white + clean without the stark hospital feel — more like you’re in a chic apartment that just happens to be completely spotless {and you’re getting a cosmetic treatment to boot}.

What’s also cool is that they buzz you in the door {so not just anyone can walk in}, and they even have a back door for their high-profile celebrity clients who come — yes they go to Englewood for their treatments! And no, I did not go through that door. Ha. Ha.

What is really nice about Esthetica versus other spas is that it is a medical spa. This means there is actually a doctor on staff, and he can perform various medical {yet aesthetic} procedures like non surgical brow lifts, liquid rhinoplasty, etc etc… things that I won’t be doing leading up to my wedding of course, but it’s good info to mention.

For my first treatment, I opted for a facial, which was AMAZING: complete with medical microdermabrasion and a rejuvenating face mask. Meghan was my esthetician, and she was a doll. She actually worked at Bliss for about 10 years before coming to Esthetica MD. The really exciting part about getting ready for a big event like a wedding with Esthetica is they do a UV skin analysis before & after so you can actually see the changes in your skin over the course of your treatments, and they tailor each treatment to your skin’s needs, complete with products necessary to get your skin looking flawless. But more on what I did and will be doing for my skin later…

Esthetica is seriously da bomb dot com and I can’t wait to go back for another treatment!
