Your Guide to Super Bowl Sunday in Hoboken + Jersey City

Dry January has been a long and grueling month that most of us can’t wait to end. Kicking off the month of February, however, will be the Super Bowl, so fans of football and parties that offer endless wings + dip, get excited. This year, Super Bowl LIV will be held in Miami, but Hoboken and Jersey City will be throwing down for the big day in true Jersey fashion. The game officially starts at 6:30PM on Sunday, February 2nd but most bars will be open well before that. If you’re looking to make plans, check out this list of spots that are open in Hoboken and Jersey City on Super Bowl Sunday {Note: this list is ever-growing and will be updated as we receive more information}.

The Shepherd + the Knucklehead {1313 Willow Avenue, Hoboken}

The Shep always has something fun going on, especially during football season and what a way to bring it all together than a big party on February 2nd. They will have $20 pitchers of Bud Light {buy two get the third half off}, $25 Hoboken Bōdi Blonde Ale, $30 White Claw Buckets and $0.75 cent wings. Reservations are recommended and takeout wing orders are also available.

Paulie’s Brickhouse will be serving up something special for this upcoming Super Bowl. Expect specials, brick oven pizza, San-Fran style clam chowder, and more. Plus, beer from each team’s home state will be featured on the menu, too.

Louise + Jerry’s {329 Washington Street}

This Hoboken staple will be open starting at 10:00AM. Cure that morning hangover and enjoy the hair of the dog to get ready to catch the 49ers take on the Chiefs. 

AXIS School of Dance

Urban Coalhouse Pizza and Bar {116 14th Street} 

Don’t sleep on Uptown Hoboken this year. Urban Coalhouse will be open and serving from their happy hour menu. They will also have catering available for parties. Orders must be placed at least 72 hours in advance and include half for full trays of football favorites like chicken fingers, eggplant rollatini, meatballs, and coal oven roasted wings. 

10th and Willow {935 Willow Avenue}

Nothing says Super Bowl Sunday quite like all you can eat wings, and 10th and Willow never disappoints. For $12, enjoy all the wings your heart desires from 4:00PM-10:00PM. Happy hour specials will be available at the bar from 7:00PM until 11:00PM.

Pilsner Haus + Biergarten {1422 Grand Street}

Always a fun place to watch something, Hoboken’s Biergarten will be showing the game on their 11 different projection screens. Of course, there will be great beer and food specials all night. Tables are first come first serve but the space is large enough to host a ton of people.

Zack’s Oak Bar + Restaurant {232 Willow Avenue}

This popular bar and restaurant will be hosting guests this year as they will be showing the match as well as serving some great dishes. Be ready for nachos, chicken bites, and chicken tenders plus drinks.

Green Rock Tap + Grill {70 Hudson Street}

Close to the PATH train and easy to get to, Green Rock is always a good time during football season, boasting their regular Sunday Funday specials. And yes, there will be napkin tossing{we’re looking at you, Eli Manning}. Be sure to check out their Out + In Burger, which was recently reviewed and rated on Barstool.

Birch {92 River Street}

As always, Birch will be hosting brunch this Sunday and there’s nothing we love more than that. Bottomless mimosas and Crazy Bloody Mary’s {starting at 12:00PM} are always a fun way to start the day. The venue is gorgeous and spacious, so bring along some friends and enjoy the day, starting at 11:00AM. 

The Madison Bar + Grill {1316 Washington Street}

The Madison will have two great options for this year. Take food home to your own party with different food packages available for pickup or delivery. They will also be open and will have their regular Sunday dinner specials — Nona’s Sunday Sauce and meatballs and braciole over rigatoni with ricotta.

Northern Soul {700 First Street}

Tucked away in the southwest end of Hoboken, Northern Soul is a great, cozy spot to catch the 49ers and the Cheifs go at it, or just hang out. They will be opening at 11:00AM on Sunday and will have a bunch of beer and wing specials. Check out their IG for more information and updates on those specials. 

The Stewed Cow {400 Adams Street}

Everyone’s favorite neighborhood bar will be open and serving up quite the selection of food, beer, bourbon, {of course} and others. They will be serving up $0.50 cent buffalo wings, Coors Light + Blue Moon pitchers for $10, $20 buckets of Narragansett, and $25 Miller Lite, Coors Lite, and Hell or High Watermelon buckets.

Black Bear {205 Washington Street}

The party at Black Bear will be something to remember. With drink specials like $6 choice mimosas + $7 man-mosas, $7Jack Daniels drinks, $10.99 pitchers of Coors Light, and $25 buckets of White Claw. They will also have giveaways at the end of every quarter. 

Mills Tavern {125 Washington Street}

Mills will be busy on Sunday with their big party. They will have tons of drink and food specials all night as well as free raffles and tons of giveaways. Enjoy $5 Blue Moons, $6 Jack drinks, $11.99 pitchers of Coors Light, and $25 buckets of White Claw. Reservations for groups and VIP seating is available. 

House of ‘Que {340 Sinatra Drive}

This waterfront BBQ spot will be open starting at 10:00AM on Sunday. They have a ton of in-house + catering options, including the Sandwich Combo {$199+tax} which includes 5lbs of wings, brisket + pork sandwiches, and Texas sides — potato salad, coleslaw, barbecue beans + corn, mac + cheese, chili beans, corn pudding, and collard greens. Other combos are available as well.  

Madd Hatter {616 Grand Street}

There is a lot going on at Madd Hatter this year. They will be offering table packages with food and drink specials ranging from $79 to $499, depending on your party. Packages include food and drink specials with wings, fries, quesadillas, mozzarella sticks, pitchers, beer towers, and much more. They will also be serving their regular Sunday Football Drink Specials, which include buckets, towers, shots, and drinks. Take the party home with you with to-go specials as well. 

Willie McBride’s {616 Grand Street} 

With tons of space, Willie’s will be offering food and drink specials all night long. Enjoy $3 drafts, $12 pitchers, and $15 buckets as well as some food specials. On the menu are pretzel bites, buffalo chicken meatballs, wings, and so much more. During the game, they will be raffling off a two-hour open bar happy hour for 10 people. Be sure to stop by and enjoy all of the fun. 

Texas Arizona {76 River Street} + 80 River {80 River Street}

Both River Street bars will be open this weekend and will be offering a ton of drink and food specials, which will be released as the day gets closer. Reservations can be made by emailing Hollie at hollie@texasarizona.com

The Pig + Parrot {77 Hudson Street} + The Ugly Irishman {72 Hudson Street}

Both neighboring locations will be open on Sunday starting at 11:00AM. They will be doing raffles, drink + shot specials, and shirt giveaways. There is no cover, just a guaranteed good time.

Wicked Wolf {120 Sinatra Drive}

Wolf will be doing their typical NFL Sunday Funday for the big day, with doors opening at 11:00AM. DJ Cam and DJ Nunz will be there, in a battle type atmosphere at 1:00PM and the party will be in full swing by 2:00PM. Check out this riverfront bar for a ton of fun. 

Jersey City

Hamilton Pork {247 10th Street} 

BBQ is on the menu today and every day at Hamilton Pork and Sunday is a great night to enjoy delicious food and drinks all day. Opening at 11:00AM, Hamilton Pork will be serving from their regular menu throughout the game.

Zeppelin Hall {88 Liberty View Drive} 

This popular spot in JC will be throwing quite the bash as the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs compete in the Super Bowl LIV. The Biergarten has large, hi-def projection screens that will be playing the match all night. Specials include $5 orders of Buffalo wings, Coors Lights, and big nachos from open to close. Parking is available and Zeppelin Hall is also easily accessible from the Light Rail and PATH.

Pet Shop {193 Newark Avenue} 

A hidden gem in the heart of Downtown Jersey City, Pet Shop is a great spot to gather. Opening their doors at 12:00PM, they will have the game projected on the screen in the back. With tons of beers on tap {cans + bottles, too}, wine, and cocktails, just bring some friends and enjoy. The kitchen will be open, serving many different vegetarian dishes like Beyond “Meatballs,” bao buns,  banh mi “fried chicken” and other meatless options.

Manny’s {210 Hudson Street}

Relatively new to the JC scene, Manny’s will be hosting its very own Super Bowl Party featuring a live DJ, jello shots, beer buckets, a game-day menu, and so much more. Oh, and bottle service is available, too. Get excited, as Manny’s is going all out this year.

Frankie Eats {264 Grove Street}

This one-of-a-kind Australian eatery is a great place to spend the day. Opening their doors at 11:00AM for brunch, Frankie will be starting the day on the right note. The atmosphere is light, airy, and filled with good vibes. The menu is unique, boasting some tasty Aussie dishes — we love the flatbread dishes with different spreads and dips. Plus, the Super Bowl will most certainly be on in the background for all to enjoy.  

The Ashford {145 Newark Avenue} 

The big match is only one reason to celebrate at The Ashford. They will be offering food and drink specials, including beer pitchers and wings. Reservations for tables are available and can be made by emailing events@theashfordjc.com. The Ashford’s sister bar + restaurant, Six26, will also be open.

White Star Bar {230 Brunswick Street + 279 Warren Street} 

Both White Star locations will be open for the big game this year. They will be showing it on all TVs with quality sound for all to enjoy. They will also be offering their catering menu as well {for those looking to bring the food home and watch the game there}. Jersey Social {837 Jersey Avenue}

Jersey Social will be gearing up for the big day with various specials such as $20 domestic beer buckets and $20 unlimited wings {from kick-off until they run out}. 

O’Hara’s Downtown {172 1st Street}

We love O’Hara’s any day of the week, but Sundays are always a good time. Both floors will be open this year  and they will also be featuring their normal Sunday football menu including wings, burgers, and a mixed app platter. Doors will open at 11:00AM.

RoofTop at Exchange Place {1 Exchange Place}

If you’re looking for something a bit fancier, RoofTop at Exchange Place is a great spot for friends to gather for great drinks and food. With gorgeous panoramic views of the city and a chic atmosphere, RoofTop is the place to be. Doors open at 12:00PM.

Pianist Envy {100 York Street}

Jersey City’s newest LGBTQ+ piano bar and restaurant will be hosting a party this year. Musicals and Margaritas are on the menu that day, with Kyle “Queen Daddy” Jenson. The night will be filled with songs from everyone’s favorite musical numbers, and of course, watching the game.

South House {149 Newark Avenue} 

The Pedestrian Walkway is going to be hoppin’ this Sunday. South House will be open for business and ready to serve. They will have wings, burgers, sliders, and beer specials. Be sure to swing by there and enjoy the gorgeous interior and open space.

Porta {135 Newark Avenue}

Porta will most certainly be open for the big match and will be serving from their brand new brunch menu. Starting the day with cinnamon sugar focaccia and a strawberry mimosa isn’t a terrible idea — just sayin’! Specific specials will be announced closer to the date. 

Hudson Hall {364 Marin Boulevard}

This gastropub will be hosting guests for the game and will have their regular football specials on offer. In addition to $5 Hudson Lager drafts and $1 shots of Tequila or Jameson after every touchdown, they will also have food specials like $7 pretzels and $1 wings.

The Hutton {225 Hutton Street}

This Heights bar and restaurant will be open on Sunday starting with brunch from 11:00AM-3:00PM and reopening for dinner at 5:00PM. The bar will remain open the entire day so feel free to drop by and start early at The Hutton.
