About Massage Therapy

The Spine & Sports Health Center created their massage programs as a separate division from the rest of the practice, so that patients can come in for just a massage {win!}. Current patients of the practice can also take advantage of the massage services as an extra form of rehabilitation, in addition to the medically-guided pain management, physical therapy, sports medicine, and chiropractic services that they offer.

Harborside Sport + Spine

Christina Ramirez {License #18KT00840000} has been a licensed massage therapist for more than six years in a variety of spa settings. She studied under physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors to gain a more holistic understanding of the human body.

Her passion for massage is about more than just the physical body, as she believes the spiritual journey is equally important. “Positive energy is the food of the soul,” Christina said. “This mentality leads my approach with each and every one of my patients and I’m excited to use massage therapy to improve the lives of the people in my community.” Christina tailors each massage to the individual patient, addressing their specific needs, whether it’s a Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, or prenatal massage. She works with each patient to get to the core of what each person needs.

First-Hand Experiences from the Hoboken Girl Team

We’ve paid a visit to Christina a visit on numerous occasions and here’s what we have to say about our experiences there.

AXIS School of Dance

Morgan, from Team HG, says:

“I went for a massage with Christina during a pretty stressful two weeks. I was hesitant to get a massage, as I didn’t think I could relax enough to really enjoy it. Christina was really intuitive and knew right away I was going through a rough time, and she asked me what was going on.

I immediately felt comfortable with her and gave her the cliff-notes version of my life. She started the massage and asked me some questions about different areas of my body and how they felt. While she worked and released knots in my back and shoulders, we chatted a bit and found topics of mutual interest. By the end, my mind had been more clear and relaxed than it had in days, and my body felt detoxed and refreshed. She gave me a genuine hug before I left and thanked me for being so open to her healing practices. It was such an amazing session for my whole being and I can’t wait to see her again.”

Jen, from Team HG, says:

“I’ve had a slew of massages in my day — some good, some okay, some bad, some well…we won’t even go there — and many in Hoboken along that spectrum. But truly, Christina’s technique is one of the best that I’ve encountered. Not only does she go deep {what I like – but she seems like she can handle any type of pressure!}, but she also stretches you out during a session and really works with what your body needs.

You can tell Christina just cares genuinely about her patients — before, during, and after the session. She asked me questions about my body, asked about pressure, and afterward, made sure I felt good and relaxed. It felt like a friend was taking care of me, and I’m going to definitely be back for more STAT. Would recommend her to everyone though I don’t want to share my little West Hoboken secret!”
