We don’t normally report hard news as a general rule beyond our Sunday news roundups, but since this has been a topic in question this AM, we’re sharing what we know. Gunshots were fired in Hoboken on Monroe Street between 8th and 9th last night.
In a local Facebook group this morning, residents reported seeing police tape early Sunday, October 11th, and saw investigators on the scene on Monroe Street between 8th and 9th.
“I live on Monroe and 9th and heard about 4 of what I thought were gunshots in the middle of the night,” one Facebook user shared.
Hoboken Police are searching for a suspect wanted for a shots-fired incident that occurred early Sunday morning in Hoboken, according to RLS Media.
Gunfire rang out in a section of Monroe Street, sending police to the scene to investigate, the outlet reports.
According to RLS, police have found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victims have been located.
The Hoboken Police Department released a statement this afternoon at 1:01PM stating the following:
Today, 10/11/2020, at about 2:37 AM, the Hoboken Police Department received a call for a man shot in the area of 9th and Monroe. When police officers responded, they located a male with gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided and he was transported to JCMC for treatment. The male victim is listed as critical but stabled at this time. The Hoboken Police is currently actively investigating this incident.
