For many, the arrival of Santa Claus at the close of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade signifies the start of the Christmas season. In the hustle and bustle of shopping, gift wrapping, and traveling to see loved ones, it’s important to carve out some time for the little ones to go and see Santa {because, well, Christmas is all about magic}. Read on to discover where to see Santa Claus in Hoboken + Jersey City this year.

 Newport Centre Mall {30 Mall Drive West, Jersey City}

When: December 1st – December 24th, Monday to Saturday 10:00AM-9:30PM; Sunday 11:00AM-6:00PM

Cost: Free

The pop-up Santa photoshoot is a festive way to get the family in the spirit of Christmas amidst all the shopping. From the East entrance on Mall Drive head straight toward the center crossway of the mall {just past the elevators} to snap a picture with the big man himself. My Gym Cookies with Santa Party {252 9th Street, Jersey City}

When: December 8th from 1:00PM-2:00PM

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with Santa. Children can play games, participate in activities, and finish off the event with cookies and a visit from Santa. Space is limited.

Hudson’s House of Play Holiday Party with Santa {40 Riverwalk Place, West New York}

When: Sunday, December 8th at 10:00 AM

In addition to a session of open play, kids get to meet Santa and have a picture taken with him by Nabi Photography, create a holiday craft, enjoy bagels with juice, and have tons of fun.

Macy’s Herald Square’s Santaland {151 West 34th Street, New York}

When: November 29th – December 24th, hours vary

Cost: Free, reservations required

More than 200,000 guests have visited Santaland inside Macy’s Herald Square each year since 1980. Become a part of this time-honored tradition with a one-on-one visit and photo with Santa. Tickets are free but a reservation is required. To reserve a ticket, click here.

Turtle Back Zoo’s Santa Meet and Greet {560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange}

When: December 6th – December 31st {closed December 24th + December 25th}, from 5:00PM 9:00PM

Cost: Free

Turtle Back Zoo comes to life during the holiday season with sparkling lights. Not only can children meet Santa and come away with a photo, but Mrs. Claus is also available for a special storytime from December 13th through December 22nd. For tickets and details, click here.

Santa’s Corner at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park {Between 40th and 42nd Streets + 5th and 6th Avenues}

When: December 14th – December 22nd, from 1:00PM-3:00PM

Cost: Free

Meet Santa and his helpers at Bryant Park for holiday crafts, caroling, and a free photo. Located on the Upper Terrace, across from Bryant Park Grill, Santa will be available each afternoon to listen to the Christmas wishes of each little {or big} one who comes to visit.

Brookfield Place {230 Vessey Street, New York}

When: December 1st – December 24th

Cost: Photo Packages $29 – $56

Create lasting memories with a family holiday photo with Santa. Walk-ins are welcome or schedule a time in advance, here. Small pets {under 25 pounds} are also welcome to take pictures with Santa on Wednesdays from 6:30PM-8:00PM. Following this special photoshoot, enjoy ice skating and the Luminaries installation along the waterfront.
