50 Years of High-Quality Care
Hackensack Radiology was founded 50 years ago by a small group of physicians based out of Hackensack University Medical Center. The practice has grown to over 40 physicians since then and now services three hospitals and multiple outpatient imaging centers — including one in Hoboken
As a medical practice that specializes in diagnostic imaging, Hackensack Radiology owns and operates leading edge medical imaging equipment to help make accurate diagnoses or support your treatment plan. The team of local physicians, technologists, nurses, and staff act as a vital component of a patient’s healthcare team to provide every individual and their doctor with the highest quality, most reliable diagnostics available.
“Hackensack Radiology is where you see the difference between a radiologist-owned imaging center and those where the doctors simply provide interpretations. Our mission is to provide comfortable, timely, and accurate diagnostic imaging for our referring physicians and their patients,” Don Elting, the Director of Operations told The Hoboken Girl. “The best part about this job is the people — the patients and staff we get to serve and to work with; and knowing that we always give our best to our patients is the most satisfying part of running this practice.”
Hackensack Radiology is the first imaging center in the area offering 3T MRI and 3D Mammography with AI technology, as well as other cutting edge modalities. In just a few months, Hackensack Radiology has imaged hundreds of local residents and achieved over 99% customer satisfaction.
The Hackensack Radiology Difference
Hackensack Radiology is a patient-centric practice that strives to maximize patient safety and comfort by listening to, educating, and involving patients in their care. In addition to providing quality care that positively impacts the lives of patients and their families, Hackensack Radiology also invests in the most advanced technology to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient comfort.
Putting that cutting edge technology to good use, the practice provides more than 10 different imaging services. A few of those modalities include:
One of the most essential services at Hackensack Radiology is 3D mammography, also known as tomosynthesis. Routine mammographic screening is the best way to detect breast cancer early, when treatment outcomes are the most favorable for our patients. All breast diagnostics are interpreted only by fellowship-trained breast imagers + diagnosticians.
MRI utilizes powerful magnetic fields and radio waves in a non-invasive + painless process to generate detailed cross-sectional images of the human body. Regions of the body that MRI images particularly well are the brain, spine, muscles + joints, and internal organs. During the procedure, the patient lies comfortably on the scanner as the machine produces a thorough cross-sectional image on the computer.
Most cardiac imaging focuses on evaluating if you have heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, with one person dying every 40 seconds from a heart attack, according to Hackensack Radiology. The Hoboken practice now offers a suite of specialized cardiac imaging with state-of-the-art equipment on multiple modalities typically only found in major academic medical centers.
The team of Interventional Radiologists use image-guided techniques to diagnose and treat various conditions such as infections, tumors, and vascular disorders. Most of these procedures are performed as a same-day procedure in a hospital setting. Examples include uterine fibroid embolization and prostate artery embolization.
At Hackensack Radiology, patients can feel confident knowing they will receive compassionate care and the most up to date health care possible.
