This holiday season Quality Greens Kitchen is creating its own twist on The 12 Days of Christmas with 9 Days of Salads. Beginning Tuesday, December 8 the restaurant will highlight a different salad each day from the menu, unveiled on Instagram along with insider information about the salad and a code for an exclusive discount.

The Journey to Quality Greens

Steven Friedrich, a Hoboken native, opened Quality Greens Kitchen in 2017 as a family-owned startup. Steven continues to take a hands-on approach in the kitchen and in the community as the owner. “I enjoy focusing on recipe development, which is constantly being fine-tuned. I also value the relationship we have with the Hoboken Homeless Shelter — rather than saving each day’s leftovers, we donate them to those in need.” One year after opening, Quality Greens Kitchen was named 2018 New Business of the Year by the Hoboken Chamber of Commerce.

Fast-Fine Dining 7 Days a Week

The restaurant’s mission is to provide fine-dining quality cuisine in a fast-casual format, making it the ideal option for a quick bite without compromising the quality of your meal. The menu features something for everyone with unique craft salads, high-quality meats, and flavorful vegetable dishes, with an emphasis on from-scratch cooking. Friedrich aims to appeal to a wide demographic and range of dietary preferences with his menu. 

“We have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options and we also serve high-end proteins and comfort food. We aren’t here to push any one dietary belief system and prefer to empower our customers to make their own decisions.”

There is a deep appreciation for the art of cooking at Quality Greens Kitchen. Nearly everything in the restaurant is made from scratch, including all of their dressings. One thing that sets them apart is the quality of the proteins available on the menu, both in terms of sourcing and preparation. 

“We are the only salad spot in Hudson County that uses a fully vented kitchen setup to supplement a salad offering (think grills, flames, ovens, etc.), and our carving station gets a lot of use!”

Online Ordering — with a FLAT Delivery Fee

Quality Greens Kitchen is offering their seasonal menu for both outdoor dining and indoor dining where guests are situated 10+ feet apart. Customers can order online for curbside pickup, traditional pickup, or pay a flat $2.75 delivery fee when you order directly from qualitygreenskitchen.com, which also guarantees you pay walk-in menu prices. Located at 227 Washington Street in Hoboken, Quality Greens Kitchen delivers throughout all of Hoboken, most of Jersey City, and parts of surrounding towns like Weehawken, Union City, and North Bergen.

Precautions are being taken in the restaurant and when preparing food for delivery. Employees are required to wear masks at all times, have their temperature checked each day upon arrival, and the company has implemented a PTO policy allowing staff flexibility to stay healthy. All delivery orders are stapled shut and include individually-wrapped eating utensils. Delivery drivers are required to wear masks as well.

Two Must-Try Dishes

Friedrich says one of the most popular items on the menu is the salmon. “People swear by our salmon, and for good reason. Not only is our salmon grilled and baked in small batches, but it is also a fresh, sushi-grade product that is antibiotic-free and BAP-certified. Being a 7-day-per week volume business allows us to bring in fresh, never frozen, salmon to be hand-sliced 6 days a week. Even some sushi restaurants have trouble doing this and tend to use frozen products.”

The restaurant sources fish from Maine and Canada’s east coast allowing the product to be up to 7 days fresher and more environmentally sustainable than salmon from places like Norway and Chile.

The herb-marinated flat iron steak {usually served medium rare} is sourced from DeBragga, a high-end butcher who supplies Michelin-star restaurants. Quality Greens serves CAB flat iron {considered the second most tender cut after filet mignon}. For reference, only the top 3% of beef in the US meets CAB standards.
