The Orthique Technique
Going to the dentist or orthodontist is sometimes daunting, but Orthique makes patients’ experience a breeze by providing services in three steps. Patients start with a visit to one of Orthique’s scanning centers for a {complimentary} 3D scan of their smile. Then, one of the Orthique licensed orthodontists creates a custom treatment plan for patients based on that scan. Orthique currently has 3 scan centers {aka Orthique Boutiques} throughout New Jersey, but most recently opened one right in our ‘hood at the Newport Mall, so you have no excuse not to stop by on your next shopping spree or a trip to the movies.
Once the custom treatment plan is designed, customized, and approved by Orthique’s qualified team of orthodontists, Orthique creates a series of aligners for the patient. Each patient even gets a 3D preview to see exactly how their teeth will look after treatment. Lastly, custom aligners are delivered to the patient along with teeth whitening foam and a retainer case for utmost convenience and ease.
Pre-Treatment
Before treatment begins, Orthique offers a free in-person “dental clearance” checkup to all potential patients to ensure their oral health is appropriate for treatment. From there, patients will receive their aligners direct to their door in the mail. For the majority of patients (80%), there are no additional office visits necessary, but they do have the option to arrange a free video teleconference with an Orthodontist throughout treatment if they have questions or concerns.
We should also note that certain, more complex cases require “Orthique Plus,” which requires 1-4 office visits with the Orthodontist and runs at a higher price point. However, only a very small percentage of patients require Orthique Plus.
How It All Works
If you’re wondering exactly how the treatment works, each set of clear aligners make minor adjustments to your smile by placing light pressure on certain parts of your teeth. As the teeth move, patients switch aligner sets every 2 weeks {delivered to your door, of course, but if you forget to switch, Orthique has partnered with “Remind Align,” a free Reminder App that sends push notifications every time you are supposed to change aligners}. Each set of aligners progressively moves the teeth until they are perfectly straight. Orthique’s average treatment time is about six months, and they have a team of support staff that on-boards patients and is available 5 days a week.

With their newest kiosk in Newport Mall in Jersey City, Orthique is backed by five large dental offices in northern New Jersey {Berkeley Heights, Newark, Whippany, and Elizabeth}. The beauty of Orthique is that the majority of patients can complete their aligner treatment entirely at home — with the peace of mind that they have local orthodontists in that they can visit if need be. Unlike some other clear-aligner services, Orthique provides state-licensed Orthodontists that patients can actually visit in-person should they have a question or concern.
Mobile Scan Experience
