On Friday PM, right around school dismissal near the Monroe Center, police activity was reported as well as a road closure in Hoboken.
The area of 9th through 7th on Monroe Street had been taped off with caution tape noted as a crime scene by eyewitnesses, according to police. Residents in the area were told to stay inside in this area due to the active crime scene investigation.
The road was closed as of 4PM in Hoboken at that location. As of 6:00PM, the road has been reopened.
At 5:50PM, a rep for the Hoboken Police department shared with The Hoboken Girl:
“HPD responded to the area of Monroe & 7th around 4pm on reports of a person found wounded in the area. The individual was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury, received in an incident that preliminary information suggests happened outside of Hoboken. The investigation is ongoing. There is no indication of any threat to the general public.”
A similar update surfaced as of 5:45PM X — from the Hoboken Police Department’s official account:
The Hoboken PD also noted, “The investigation is ongoing. There is no indication of any threat to the general public,” in a follow-up tweet.

Computers 4 People, started by teenager Dylan Zajac, is dedicated to collecting + refurbishing technology to distribute to individuals + groups in need. Computers 4 People will accept items such as old desktop computers, laptops, hard drives, tablets, keyboards, monitors, + more. The organization also accepts monetary donations. Additionally, if volunteers have experience in refurbishing computers or can store items, help in those areas is needed. Learn more here.
Family Promise of Hudson County | Jersey City
Promise addresses homelessness by using the resources of volunteer congregations in Hoboken + Jersey City by providing space in their buildings to serve as temporary homes for homeless families. Each Family Promise affiliate also has a day center, where families can take showers, receive case management, and look for housing and jobs. Family Promise relies on volunteers to give their time, making meals, sharing hospitality, spending the night, playing with children, and lending their passion and expertise to help families get back on their feet. The Hoboken Shelter | 300 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken
The Hoboken Shelter hosts 50 guests nightly + serves more than 1,000 meals throughout the week. As a full-service community partner, the Hoboken Shelter is a necessary resource within the neighborhood. The Shelter is always in need of donations + support to help keep its doors open and welcoming to its guests. Learn more here.
