Autumn festivals, pumpkin picking, and falling leaves aren’t the only events Hudson County has to look forward to this October. Escape the chilly air to check out intimate venues, Halloween parties with cover bands, and full-on rock concerts to get the most out of this month’s live music lineup. October 1st — Team Dresch at 8:00PM @ Monty Hall

Club Pilates 2023

Punk riot girl band Team Dresch will perform at Monty Hall on Tuesday at 8:00PM. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, the group began making music in the ’90s during the unforgettable punk era. Join them for a night of true hardcore sound. Tickets are $15 and to check out more information, head here.

October 3rd — The Akin Backbeat at 8:00PM @ Fox and Crow

Don’t miss performances at the Fox and Crow this month, especially the Akin Backbeat on Thursday at 10:00PM. Jersey City-based musician Craig Akin and his group have a jazz, blues, and funk sound. Check out their Fox and Crow debut and more details here.

October 5th — Crash the Party at 11:00PM @ Willie McBride’s

Live cover band Crash the Party always brings the house down and they won’t disappoint at Willie McBride’s this Saturday. Join them on October 5th and all over the Tri-State area this fall for throwbacks, top 40 hits, and classic tunes. For more information, visit their website or Willie’s event.

October 11th — Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls at 7:00PM @ White Eagle Hall

Normally solo, legendary artist Frank Turner will perform next Friday with his band the Sleeping Souls at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. His newest album No Man’s Land is full of imagery, Easter eggs, and interesting characters. Tickets range from $35 to $40 and you can check out more information here.

October 12th — Titus Andronicus at 8:30PM @ Monty Hall

Next Saturday, rock band Titus Andronicus will take the stage at 8:30PM at Monty Hall in Jersey City. Formed in 2008, they’ll play hits from their latest studio album, A Productive Cough. Check out more details and purchase tickets for $20 here.

October 12th — Dead Party at 10:00PM @ Finnegan’s Pub

Attention all Dead Heads in Hudson County — Finnegan’s Pub {734 Willow Avenue, Hoboken} and band JpJammin’ are hosting a party for locals who love the Grateful Dead. The Dead Party is notoriously packed so get there early. For more details, view the event on Facebook.

October 18th — Brian Kirk and the Jirks at 11:00PM @ Willie McBride’s

They’re back — Brian Kirk and the Jirks have been covering songs on the East Coast since the early 1990s with Brian and eight band members. The relationship Brian has with his audience is irreplaceable and Hoboken is lucky to host these talented artists after their summer at the Jersey Shore. See more information here.

October 18th — The Burning Bees at 8:00PM @ FM

Four-piece rock band The Burning Bees will take the stage at FM Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge in Jersey City on the 18th. With a mix of original songs and covers, they are ready to thrill the Hudson County bar scene. The Bees will play two sets starting at 8:00PM. October 22nd — Peter Case: Live in the Parlour at 7:30PM @ Fox and Crow

“Live in the Parlour” in Jersey City later this month will be three-time Grammy nominee Peter Case. His music spans from folk to blues to rock. Case will show off his talent at the Fox and Crow at 7:30PM on October 22nd. Check out additional information about the artist and event here.

October 25th — Castles In The Sky at 9:30PM @ Elysian Cafe

Uptown French bistro Elysian Cafe often hosts live music events, and this month Castles in the Sky will perform at 9:30PM. An indie rock duo, Christian and Sarah are multi-instrumentalists, MCs, DJs, and more. For more event details, see the Facebook event here.

October 26th — Willie’s Halloween Costume Party at 11:00PM @ Willie McBride’s

Celebrate Halloween the right way — a costume party with live music at Willie McBride’s on Saturday, October 26th. Rock out to the latest music with electric cover band Evolution X and their own light show. Prizes will be available for the best-dressed party-goers. Check out more details here.

October 29th — Mt. Joy at 8:00PM @ White Eagle Hall

In their Jersey City debut, folk-rock band Mt. Joy will perform at White Eagle Hall on the last Tuesday of October. The five-piece group is most well-known for their song “Astrovan” which has gained over five million streams on Spotify to date. Tickets range from $25 general admission to $75 for VIP tickets.
