What began as a resource for local parents in 2016 evolved into a photography studio and boutique. Little Hoboken, founded by Melissa Wise and Cassie Mascari has become a well-known brand in the community for all-things kid-friendly. Sadly, the owners announced that the Little Hoboken retail store located at 702 Clinton Street will be closing.
The brick-and-mortar shop opened in 2020. It was initially utilized as a photography studio and evolved into a charming shop with tons of educational toys, Hoboken-inspired merch, parent products, holiday-themed items, and more.
Little Hoboken also helped local artisans without storefronts by teaming up to host pop-up events in front of the shop.

On January 26th, Cassie and Melissa took to Little Hoboken’s Instagram page to announce the closure, stating, “It’s with a heavy heart that we’ve decided to let you in on a secret we’ve been keeping while carefully weighing all of our options. Don’t worry though, you’ll still be seeing plenty of us! Please scroll through to read. XO, Melissa and Cassie.”
They explained that they do not have a final closing day set as of yet and will continue to remain open until they do. Whatever is in-store currently is the last of the products, there will not be a restock – so be sure to stop in soon to show support and stock up on anything that’s left, as there will be sales happening!
“We have some ideas up our sleeves as far as the new iteration of Little Hoboken,” Melissa said in a series of Instagram stories on the brand’s Instagram page.
