Hoboken residents, Jean Pierre and Ann Alvarado, who are parents to four children, are the owners of the new Lightbridge Academy in uptown Hoboken. Offering one of the earliest start times in Hoboken, Lightbridge Academy opens at 6:30AM making it easy for working parents to drop children off and meet the demands of a busy schedule. Lightbridge Academy is also conveniently located next to a bus stop that leads into New York City via uptown Hoboken.
Home Away From Home
Teachers aim to create a home away from home environment so students can feel comfortable and parents can feel confident with their experience at Lightbridge Academy. The program focuses on providing quality care and a quality learning environment with a rigorous curriculum. Classrooms are guided by a curriculum that encompasses solid academic learning with developmentally appropriate practices designed to cultivate the whole child.
Students will learn through a variety of methods thanks to the proprietary Seedlings Early Childhood Education Curriculum and will experience early learning in the ways that are most developmentally appropriate for their age. Great minds in early childhood education like Maria Montessori, Howard Gardner, and Loris Malaguzzi, influenced the key learnings used in the Seedlings curriculum. The Center Director, Binita Sheth has been working in the Early Childhood Education field for the last twelve years. Six of those years, she has held the position of Center Director. Sheth holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and a Masters in Administration in Early Childhood Education. The Assistant Center Director for the new Lightbridge Academy location is Carmen Imbimbo. Carmen has been working in the field of Early Childhood education since 2014.
