In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Hudson Pride Center and Pride Month, Hudson Pride Center, located at 3000 John F. Kennedy Boulevard #306, Jersey City, is thrilled to be hosting the second annual LGBTQ+ Prom Fundraiser. This special event will take place Friday, June 16th from 7:00PM to 10:00PM at White Eagle Hall, located at 337 Newark Avenue in Jersey City.

The Details

This year, the Hudson Pride Center will be celebrating 30 years of serving the community — with the LGBTQ+ Prom Gala Fundraiser being its biggest event of the year. The prom gala provides a safe and affirming space for all to enjoy a special night out and will feature an open bar, buffet, entertainment, and a fun night of music and dancing. Drag icon, Harmonica Sunbeam + DJ Skittlez will return to host the annual event along with special guests, Boylesque Babe and Antonio Armor.

Tickets are available for purchase for $150 each, with proceeds directly benefiting The Hudson Pride Center’s daily operations, programs, and services. To enjoy the LGBTQ+ Prom, you must be 21+ with proof of identification. Complimentary transportation via Uber to and from the event (up to $30 per ride) and a $25 UberEats gift card will also be given to the first 150 tickets sold!

If you are unable to make the event but would like to help a member of the Hudson Pride community attend, there is an option to purchase a ticket on their behalf. This gives everyone the opportunity for a second chance at prom, where they feel seen and accepted.

About Hudson Pride Center

The Hudson Pride Center, located at 3000 John F. Kennedy Boulevard., Suite 306 in Jersey City, is the largest LGBTQ+ social services center in New Jersey and provides free support, services, and other resources to the LGBTQ+ community. This 501(c)(3) non-profit, community-based organization was started in 1993 to help provide a sense of security, safety, and well-being to Hudson County’s LGBTQ+ community.

Set to enhance their members’ quality of life, Hudson Pride provides a range of mental and physical health resources and support. These range from, HIV/PrEP services, mental health referrals, HRT, and other gender-affirming assistance, to food and toiletry supplies, and housing and shelter support. They also provide hundreds of workshops, groups, and events that are all free and led by dedicated staff and interns, keeping Hudson Pride Center community-driven and accessible. This includes weekly support programs for youth, elders, and transgender and non-binary members. Hudson Pride Center prides itself on providing a lifeline to people in need, to help them not only to survive – but to thrive.

“This magical evening is important to so many LGBTQ+ community members who skipped prom, couldn’t go with their preferred date, in their preferred attire, or simply weren’t authentically themselves. This evening will give our community the opportunity to come together and finally have that memorable Prom everyone deserves!” Elizabeth Schedl, Executive Director shared with The Hoboken Girl.

The LGBTQ+ Prom Fundraiser will take place on Friday, June 16th from 7:00PM to 10:00PM at White Eagle Hall, located at 337 Newark Avenue, in Jersey City. The Platinum Sponsor for the event is Gilead Sciences, and Gold Sponsors include Lord Abbett, Jersey City Medical Center, and Hudson County.
