August is Pride Month in Hudson County and there is no shortage of events for everyone to enjoy! From comedy shows to speed-dating mixers to parties, and flag raisings, there are tons of things happening to celebrate and uplift the local LGBTQ+ community. Keep reading to find out all the ways to celebrate Pride this August in Hudson County.

Gringo’s is celebrating JC Pride with a night of Classic Disco all night long at this official Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride event. Dress up in the theme for a chance to win prizes. It’s free entry for 21+ guests, and drink specials will be available. Learn more here.

Porta’s Fierce Fridays Pride

August 6 | 11:30PM – 1AM

Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival and Porta invite you to experience this special Fierce Fridays Pride event hosted by Stella Luna with guest stars Catrina Lovelace, Slaylani, and Gia Wyntour. There is a $15 entertainment fee for this event. Learn more here.


LGBT+ Friendship Speed Dating

August 7 | 2PM-4PM

Come meet new queers during Hoboken Pride at Columbus Park from 2PM-4PM. There will be Truth or Dare, come prepared. The event is hosted by Hoboken Rainbow Family.


Pride With Your Pup at Corgi Spirits

August 7 | 2PM-6PM 

The Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival and Corgi Spirits at the Jersey City Distillery invite you to come to celebrate JC Pride doggy style. Learn more here.


Every Woman Wellness Event

August 7 | 4PM-8PM

This event hosted at the Hoboken University Medical Center is a healthy living event for lesbian, bisexual, cis, and trans women. The event will discuss free yearly medical exams, safe sex resources, guided meditation, and have food, music, and prizes.


Laugh with Pride at Brightside

August 7 | 7PM + 9PM 

Celebrate Jersey City Pride with a hysterical lineup at Brightside Tavern’s patio. Learn more here.


Pride on the Pier

August 8 | 2PM-8PM 

Pier 13 and the Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival invite you to join Pride on the Pier. Expect a day of fun, entertainment, food & drinks. Learn more here.


LGBTQ Networking Mixer

August 9 | 7PM-9PM

This social event will offer wine and cheese pairings. A$20 donation with proceeds going to Hudson Pride Center.


Rainbow Block Party

August 10 | 12PM-6PM

Party

Join Hudson Pride Center for a crosswalk rainbow block party and paint on Grove Street + Mercer. Painting the mural is open to the community, but pre-registration is required. Please email jcmap@jcnj.org to be assigned a shift. Learn more here.


Lillian Bustle’s Rainbow Review

Light Up Pride Night

August 13 | 7:30PM – 10PM

Light Up Pride Night

Come celebrate JC Pride with Bike JC and the Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival in this special ride celebrating the 20th Anniversary Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival. Riders are encouraged to decorate and light up their bikes in honor of the festivities. Ride gathers at 7:30 and rolls at sunset. The ride will begin at 325 Grove Street in Jersey City. PRIDE with Silent DISCO

August 14 | 6PM – 9PM

Celebrate Family PRIDE with Silent DISCO and Hooping Workshop. This year’s Silent Disco comes to the lawn at Canco Park: don headphones and pick the music. There will be three channels, including a live DJ. Choose your favorite and dance the night away. Learn more here.


Queer Sunset Yoga

Gringo’s Drag Brunch Bingo

August 15 | 11AM – 4PM

Join Gringo’s for great food, drink specials, hot beats, free bingo + prizes as nightlife celebrity Linda Simpson calls your balls in this special Pride Edition of Gringo’s Drag Queen Bingo hosted by laugh riot James Ventola. Joining James and Linda will be a special Pride Edition performer, the sultry Kimmy Sumony. Brunch at Gringo’s is served from 11PM-3PM with Bingo starting at 1PM, but make sure to reserve your tables for no later than 12:30PM if you want to get a prime spot. Learn more here.

Join Vogue Ball in Lincoln Park in honor of Jersey City/Hudson County Pride. There will be a live Vogue battle on the mobile stage with pop up drag and queer performances. Learn more here.

Karaoke Pride Night

Join Hudson Provide for the Pride edition of Karaoke Wednesdays at Headroom’s front bar stage.


Pride Drive-In Sing-Along

August 19 | 7:30PM – 10:30PM

Pride Drive-In Sing Along

Hudson Pride hosts a drive-in sing-along screening of Yentl at Congregation Bnai Jacob of Jersey City.


Jersey City Pride Flag Raising

August 20 | 12PM – 1PM

The township of Jersey City will raise the pride flag in honor of Pride Month.


Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival

August 21 | 1PM 

The Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival is returning to the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza this year to celebrate the 20th Anniversary. The Festival is on the Grove Street PATH Plaza and Newark Ave. between Grove St. & Erie St. A smaller footprint than previous years, but expect the usual over-the-top fun time. The festival will be followed by an after-party at Six26. Learn more here.


Gazebo Mic Club Concert in Church Square Park: “EltonJohnish”

August 21 | 2PM – 4PM

In honor of Hoboken’s Pride Month, singer and musician Andrew Schwarz will present a solo concert titled “EltonJohnish” on Saturday, August 21 at 2PM in the Church Square Park Gazebo. He will perform some of Elton John’s popular hits such as “Candle in the Wind,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Rocket Man,” “I’m Still Standing,” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”  This concert is free and open to the public and registration is not required. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the music. Learn more here.


Staged Reading of comedy/drama “Torch Song Trilogy”

August 28 | 3PM – 4:30PM

In honor of Hoboken’s Pride Month, the Hoboken Public Library, will present a staged reading of the Tony Award-winning comedy/ drama “Torch Song Trilogy” by Harvey Fierstein on Saturday, August 28 at 3PM in the Small Program Room & Garden. The cast features Broadway, Film, and TV actors Sidney Myer, Michael Stever, Logann Grayce, and Hoboken’s own Florence Pape who will perform this funny and sometimes intense staged reading. TANGENTS: New work by Miguel Cardenas

In celebration of Jersey City PRIDE month, the Art House Productions Gallery is excited to present “TANGENTS”, a solo exhibition of new work by Miguel Cardenas from August 1st to September 10th at Village West Gallery in Downtown Jersey City. Learn more here.
