For those looking to shop small with local New Jersey artisans and vendors, meet the HDSID Holiday Market. Over two weekends in December, this holiday market provides community members with the chance to buy handmade and unique gifts locally for family, friends, neighbors — or even for yourself. Debbie Mangual-Condi is the organizer and founder of the Artist & Maker Market which gives the community a chance to shop locally-made, quality, and handmade gifts.
Dates of the Market
The market will take place Saturday, December 4th, and Sunday, December 5th, and then again on Saturday, December 11th, and Sunday, December 12th in Jersey City. On both weekends the event will take place from 12PM to 6PM.
“We will be covering all bases again this year. Both Jersey City holiday markets will be happening in tandem within blocks of each other,” Debbie told Hoboken Girl. “Grove Street Market is outdoors while The Ashford rooftop market is held indoors, serving food and drinks.”
Having both indoor and outdoor shopping areas means no one has to miss out based on their comfort level with being around a small crowd in indoor spaces. Everyone gets the chance to see the talent that makes Jersey City such a vibrant community.
“The best part of putting on the markets is highlighting local talent and inviting the influx of new pandemic-born small businesses into a space and giving them the opportunity to sell their merchandise,” Debbie shared. “Different vendors will be attending each weekend. The rooftop at The Ashford will be heated and beautifully decorated, and who knows, maybe Santa will visit!”

The HDSID Holiday Markets will be located at the Grove PATH Plaza and The Ashford which is located at 145 Newark Avenue in Jersey City. The market will take place Saturday, December 4th, and Sunday, December 5th, and then again on Saturday, December 11th, and Sunday, December 12th in Jersey City.
