Summer is in its final stretch and it’s time for Labor Day weekend festivities as well as fall activities. This week’s local Hoboken + Jersey City events guide has everyone covered with fun things to do locally, like Labor Day dinner cruises, a Summer Blowout at Rooftop at Exchange Place, pilates at Pier A Park, and more. The Laugh Tour at Dorrian’s Red Hand

Dorrian’s Red Hand, located at 555 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City, is hosting two comedy shows on Saturday, September 3rd at 6:30PM and 8:30PM. The Laugh Tour is hosted by comedian Rich Kiamco and will feature Drexton Clemmons from Buzzfeed, Luke Thayer from Dry Bar, Idris Alton from SF Comedy Fest, and Irene Bremis from John Fugelsang and Sirius XM. Show tickets purchased online in advance of the show are $15 and are $20 day of and at the door with a 2 item minimum per person. Additional shows with other comedians will take place every Saturday night. Venue and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps | Hoboken

Getting to and from a healthcare facility in the event of an emergency is not something people think of until the time comes. Thankfully, one non-profit in Hoboken has this covered, but only with the help of volunteers. The Hoboken Ambulance Corps is a 100% volunteer-based, free resource for the community. To keep the organization running, they need volunteers in many capacities. Learn more here.


Hudson County American Red Cross | Jersey City

The American Red Cross has been ready to respond in times of disaster for decades, + the COVID-19 crisis is no different. More than ever, the American Red Cross is in need of volunteers to help us all get through this time together. Drivers are needed to safely transport lifesaving blood from local blood drives to hospitals. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 shifts per month, with each shift being about 4 hours. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of a clean driving record, + should be able to lift at least 45 pounds. Learn more here.
