America Needs You helps fight economic mobility for first-generation college students by providing transformative membership and intensive care development and is currently recruiting 100 mentor coaches in New Jersey (Hoboken, Jersey City, and Newark) for the upcoming year. In an effort to help raise awareness and support America Needs You, the New Jersey Associate Board is also hosting a fundraiser at Hudson Hall, located at 364 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City, on Tuesday, June 14th from 7:00PM-10:00PM. The event will include an open bar + appetizers, DJ, silent auction, raffle, and more. Not to mention, a portion of ticket sales will directly support first-generation college students in New Jersey.

The Laugh Tour at Dorrian’s Red Hand

Saturday, June 4th at 6:30PM and 8:30PM | BUY TICKETS

Dorrian’s Red Hand located at 555 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City is hosting two comedy shows on Saturday, June 4th at 6:30PM and 8:30PM. The Laugh Tour is hosted by comedian Rich Kiamco and will feature Rob Christensen from Comedy Central and Apple TV, Allan Fuks from Sirius XM, Kate Nichols from West Side Comedy Club, and Art Cai from NY Comedy Festival. Show tickets purchased online in-advance of the show are $15 and are $20 day of and at the door with a 2 item minimum per person. Additional shows with other comedians will take place the rest of June. Please note, doors to exterior are ajar for ventilation with fireplace on inside (these indoor comedy events still require proof of vaccination with ID) Venue and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps | Hoboken

Getting to and from a healthcare facility in the event of an emergency is not something people think of until the time comes. Thankfully, one non-profit in Hoboken has this covered, but only with the help of volunteers. The Hoboken Ambulance Corps is a 100% volunteer-based, free resource for the community. To keep the organization running, they need volunteers in many capacities. Learn more here.


Hudson County American Red Cross | Jersey City

The American Red Cross has been ready to respond in times of disaster for decades, and the COVID-19 crisis is no different. More than ever, the American Red Cross is in need of volunteers to help us all get through this time together.  Drivers are needed to safely transport lifesaving blood from local blood drives to hospitals. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-4 shifts per month with each shift being about 4 hours. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of a clean driving record, and should be able to lift at least 45lbs. Learn more here.


Hudson Pride Center | Jersey City

Hudson Pride Center creates safe spaces to celebrate and enjoy life for members of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. It advocates for the physical, mental, and social well-being of all people. Volunteers are needed to support these efforts alongside full-time staff members. Opportunities include office assistant volunteer, tutor specialist, special event support facilities manager, and Pride Festival volunteers.
