    {PS: We’re adding to this as we go, so comment or email hello@hobokengirl.com with any additions!}

    Anthony Davids {953 Bloomfield Street}

    Genna-Rossi-Brunch-Anthony-Davids-Donuts-Coffee

    AD’s will open their doors at 9AM for New Years Day Brunch and if you have some leftover champagne, bring it to mix up some mimosas at this staple Hoboken BYO restaurant. Eggs and omelets are always on the menu and might we suggest the Sicilian Omelet, which is exactly what you’re thinking — prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, tomatoes, and fresh arugula. If you’re up for something else savory, the Burrata Frittata is a go-to choice.

    Bagels on Hudson {802 Washington Street}

    Craving a bagel and don’t really feel like doing the big brunch thing? Bagels on Hudson is normally open 24 hours per day, and New Year’s Day is no different {plus, they deliver!}. A word to the wise: The chocolate chip pancakes are Bagels on Hudson’s best kept secret, as is their OG everything bagel toasted {and we’d be in remiss if we didn’t mention the crumb cake}. Nom.

    Bin 14 {1314 Washington Street}

    bin 14 brunch hoboken

    Sister restaurant to Anthony Davids, Bin 14 will open its doors for brunch around 11AM, so grab an extra hour or two of sleep — you’re going to need it. All additional brunch cocktails and beer are $3. Many of the small plates include savory and spicy items such as Rock Shrimp, Wings, and Tuna Tartare. The entrees are a mix of breakfast and lunch and feature dishes like Eggs in a Hole, Waffles with Maple, berries, and whipped mascarpone, and Wild Mushroom Pizza.

    Union Hall {306 Sinatra Drive}

    union hall hoboken

    This waterfront bar will be celebrating its one year anniversary of its “Big Drinks and Small Plates” Brunch Menu. For $25 per person, enjoy one Unfinishable Drink, and four small plates. Apple Pie French Toast, Chicken + Waffle Dogs, Avocado Toast, Eggs in Purgatory {tomato sauce, basil, Pecorino}, + Garlic Toast Points would be our choices, but the combinations are ENDLESS. Sliders, burgers, + flatbreads will obviously be available and will definitely help you to tackle that post NYE hangover. And if in the market for a great brunch, you might as well enjoy one of Union Hall’s Liquid Desserts while you’re at it.

    Zacks Oak Bar and Restaurant {232 Willow Avenue}

    zacks hoboken

    Roll out of bed and come in your pajamas because Zack’s is having the pajama party of the year. Boasting some special cocktails + festive fun, this restaurant is always on top of its game. With old world charm and modern menu, Zack’s guests enjoy a delicious brunch together. From 10AM to 3PM, pick from a combination of sweet and savory dishes like Eggs Benedict Florentine {poached eggs, spinach, Hollandaise sauce, atop an English Muffin} or French Toast, which quite literally tastes like a bite of heaven. The brioche bread, caramelized bananas, and hazelnut drizzle go perfectly together. Of course, there are quite a few items from the lunch side of the brunch menu, like a creamy penne vodka, or a classic burger.

    Jersey City

    Amelia’s {187 Warren Street}

    Located right in the heart of Historic Paulus Hook, Amelia’s will be serving up homestyle cuisine in its trendy + casual spot. Brunch starts at 10AM and will extend to 3PM. With so many options to choose from, Amelia’s Bistro makes for a great spot to kick back with friends and family. The menu is extensive and Chef Abel Ruiz and his team are really on its A-game. Choose from classics with a twist such as the Caramel Crunch Brioche French Toast or the Bacon + Granola Pancakes with salted caramel. Obviously, add ice cream to the Belgian-style Waffles with Strawberries. Of course, your staple egg plates like Farm House Skillets and Gaucho Eggs are a go-to but go ahead and shake things up with Shrimp + Grits or a Breakfast Flatbread. Drinks are a must if you’re feeling daring. We love their selection of beer cocktails like Man-Mosas and Brunch-Tails like Amelia’s Spritz, or a Pomegranate Dark and Stormy.

    Buddy Who’s {247 Washington Street}

    buddy whos gluten free jersey city

    There is no place quite like Buddy Who’s — where cereal pancakes are a real thing, and if you join them for brunch on New Year’s day {starting at 9 am}, you will get a chance to indulge in the craze. With tons of other brunch options like a Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, omelets, or eggs of all styles, Buddy Who’s does brunch like no other. We are head over heels for Brunch Mains and love the biscuits + gravy and eggs, and the French Onion What? {a pancake filled with frenched onions, shredded Swiss cheese, + topped with honey}. Buddy Who’s brunch cocktails are equally as satisfying as its plates and feature your typical cocktails as well as a few others {like the Ginger Apple Pie, which can’t be real — but it is.}

    The Hutton {225 Hutton Street}

    The cozy, industrial interior at The Hutton is spectacular, and it’s hard to get enough of its unique brunch in Jersey City Heights. The restaurant will be open for brunch from 11AM to 3:30PM, and all menu items are a la carte and range from $15-$25. The Cinnamon Roll is TDF as are the Unicorn Waffles, adorned with blueberries, cotton candy, + vanilla gelato. On the other end of the spectrum,  the Frittata, with kale, cheddar, tomatoes, + fondue is a must for the savory palate. Wash that all down with a Hutton Classic Cocktail and you’ll be ready for the rest of the day and quite possibly, the rest of the year.

    The Kitchen Step {500 Jersey Avenue}
