Rebellations is celebrating 5 years in Hoboken — and to celebrate, we sent two of our beauty and style contributors to enjoy blowouts and some hair TLC. Read all about their experience, below:
For someone who loves all things beauty, I absolutely dread doing my hair. The washing, the blow drying, the straightening, the wanding, the crimping… {just kidding unless you’re Stephanie Tanner or Madonna this trend should stay in the 90’s}, is just not for me. I do, however, take pride in caring for my hair. An instant “pick-me-up,” everyone has their version of one; a latte, a yoga session, #HGmanimonday visit, retail therapy, whatever your Hoboken vice is, I’ve come to appreciate a new league: a visit to Rebellations.
It’s no wonder Rebellations is celebrating their 5 year anniversary in Hoboken – conveniently located near the Path and NJ transit trains, Rebellations is the perfect way to end a long, overworked day. They offer an array of salon hair services with a meticulous display of Kerastase products.
Rebellations can turn your commute into date night with the simplicity and the luxury of a blowout. Located on the third floor {entrance next to Hotel Victor}, this stylish salon {nominated as one of five finalists for the North American Hairstyling Awards’ award for Best Salon Design of the Year} has just what you need for any and all of your hair essentials. I LOVE how modern and bright the salon is with its acrylic chairs, exposed brick, sleek lighting and my personal fave, all access ceiling blow dryers. They offer their clients water, tea, coffee AND wine during their wait, and the OCD in me acknowledges how CLEAN it is! Their product display is immaculate.
But if you’re like me and are tired of the same old thing, Rebellations provides Kerastase ‘doses’ for different needs {dry, damaged, color treated etc}. The ‘dose’ itself is equivalent to a shot {of vodka, lemon drop pick your poison} except it serves as a treatment to your hair and it is applied during a shampoo/condition. With the cold weather approaching, I strongly recommend this as an add-on to your next visit to Rebellations. The stylist will help choose which dose is best for your hair – you can mix and match the doses, and they are available for purchase to utilize at home as well.
