The Meadowlands State Fair is an ongoing event open both weekends and weekdays. Each day, the fair features a variety of live shows and concerts, rides, exciting vendors, and other activities. This weekend, the “selfie on a stick” company will run a pop-up shop at Booth #44, giving guests the opportunity to up their selfie game. This weekend, be sure to check out the hypnotist show and the NJ Hall of Fame Mobile Museum. Ticket prices vary depending on the day. Front Runners New York Pride Run: Saturday, June 27th at 8:30AM

This weekend the Hoboken Harriers Running Club will participate in the 34th Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run. More than 5000 runners will come out to show their pride during this collaborative effort between The New York Road Runners and Front Runners New York. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the five mile run through Central Park is donated to a different charitable organization. This year members voted to support Immigration Equality, an organization dedicated to supporting LGBT and HIV-positive immigrants seeking safety, fair treatment, and freedom. The run will begin at 102 Transverse, Central Park starting at 8:30 a.m.

Free Bootcamp at Iron Plate Studios: Saturday, June 27th at 11:00AM

We’ve been loving all the free fitness classes offered throughout Hoboken since the weather has warmed up. This Saturday is no exception to the trend.  Iron Plate Studios will be offering a free bootcamp inside the NJ Running Company.  Iron Plate Studios is a private personal training and nutrition studio located inside of the Monroe Center. Their team of certified personal trainers, registered dietitians and exercise physiologists work together to provide clients with a whole body healthy living plan. Start your morning off right by trying out their bootcamp class this Saturday by heading to 127 Washington Street at 11:00AM. Make sure to check out some of the cute workout gear NJ Running Co has in stock while you’re there!

Drop Your Food Scraps: Saturday, June 27th from 9:00AM-2:00PM.

We were so excited back in April when we found out the Community Compost Company was coming to town and we are even more excited they are now here. They’ll be in various locations around Hoboken every Saturday this summer for residents to drop off food or and organic materials for composting. Their goals are to reduce food wasting and improve the health of our children and community. Take your composting material to any of their three community drop spot locations- Garden Street Farmers’ Market {14th & Garden Street} from 9:00am-2:00pm;  Hoboken City Hall {94 Washington Street} from 9-11:00am; and ShopRite {900 Madison Street} from 12-2:00pm.

Makeup bag makeover? Yes please! This Saturday The Salon by Soon Dar Secrets hosts Rima Araha at an event meant to educate women about how to use the products we have to the fullest extend possible. Rima will help ladies will look through their makeup bags and discuss ideas for enhancing makeup routines with each individual lifestyle in mind. Feel free to come in with a list of questions you’ve always wanted to ask. Meet other Hoboken girls and compare cosmetic favorites. The Salon by is located at 251 1st Street- feel free to drop in any time from 12-2:00PM.

10th Street Block Party: Saturday, June 27th from 12-6:00PM

Now that Summer 2015 has finally arrived, we are sooo ready for tasty BBQs and get togethers with friends! The Turtle Club and 10th and Willow are co-hosting a  block party this Saturday on 10th Street between Park and Willow. The event will feature an outdoor beer garden, barbecue, and outdoor dining {hope it doesn’t rain…eek}. Kids are welcome and can enjoy a bouncy castle and magician. These two restaurants are on our list of favorites, so we think this is definitely a great way to spend a Saturday.

Irish Row Pub Tour: Saturday, June 26th from 12:30-8:00PM

Join Hoboken Happy Hours for a pub tour of Hoboken’s Irish Row featuring a drawing for a grand prize weekend trip for two to Ireland {yes please!}. Get your tickets in advance by clicking here. Then, simply get your Irish passport {to be distributed at registration} stamped at all five bars for a chance to win. The drawing will take place at 8:00PM on Saturday at The Dubliner. Chakra Balancing Workshop with Erica Arce: Sunday from 2-4:00PM

Yoga teacher, Erica Arce, will lead a Chakra balancing workshop this Sunday at Surya Yoga’s downtown studio. Through guided meditation and yoga, Erica will outline the characteristics and qualities of each Chakra and describe the physical, mental, emotional, sexual and spiritual problems that can arise if the energies of the chakras are unbalanced. During the workshop, you’ll discover whether any of your Chakras are blocked and you’ll work towards bringing them back into harmony. Register online in advance for $30 or pay $40 at the door.

The Ataris at Maxwell’s: Sunday, June 28th at 6:30PM

Ok… so maybe we’re dating ourselves a bit here, but Boys of Summer is still a summer road trip go-to for us, so seeing The Ataris here in Hoboken sounds amazinggg. The band will play at Maxwell’s this Sunday with The Cryptkeeper Five as their opening act. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.

Novel Readings at Little City Books- Sunday, June 28th at 7:00PM

Novelists Jon Papernick and Jessamyn Hope will be at Little City Books {100 Bloomfield St.} this Sunday to discuss and read from their new novels about Israel and the Middle East. The authors have been recognized and reviewed by the  New York Times, Ploughshares, Five Points, and Colorado Review, as well as many other literary magazines. Hope will be reading different segments from her novel Safekeeping while Papernick will be reading segments from his novels, The Ascent of Eli Israel and There is No Other. NY Times best selling novelist, Caroline Leavitt will also be present. Leavitt reviews for People Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle and will be present to moderate the readings and discuss writing and Middle Eastern affairs with the audience.
