Outdoor HIIT Classes with Iron Plate Studios: Tuesdays at 7:30PM & Wednesdays at 9:15AM

Join IronPlate Studio trainers, Brandon and Chris in their new outdoor hiit class at Maxwell’s Place pier. The classes will start Tuesday, August 11th at 7:30 PM and Wednesday, August 12 at 9:15 AM every week at the same time and place. Take your fitness up a notch! Cat Cafe Pop-up Shop: Friday, August 7th – Sunday, August 8th from 2-7:00PM

For five days, Optimum is partnering with North Shore Animal League America to host a pop-up cat cafe. Visitors can spend time with adorable feline friends and all of the cats will be up for adoption. Optimum wifi will be available for visitors to connet to and share photos from the cafe. The company will donate $1 to North Shore Animal League for every photo shared with the hashtag #tristatecats. Head down to cat cafe to show your support and to adopt! Adoptions end Sunday at 7:00PM. The Cat Cafe is located at 716 Washington Street.

Real Hot Yoga Opening Weekend: Friday, August 7th – Sunday, August 9th

New yoga studio Real Hot Yoga is offering free classes all weekend long to celebrate their grand opening. Real Hot Yoga has three other studios in the NY/NJ area and prides itself on creating a warm and welcoming environment. Their hot studio offers precise temperature and humidity control; and a UV air filtration system, which removes 99% of germs, bacteria, viruses, and odors from the air. The studio is located at 1414 Grand Street.

We can always count on Maxwell’s to host amazing live music events. This week they present Ours with School of Rock and & Silent Return. Tickets are available online for $15 and will be sold at the door for $17. Doors open at 7:00.

Film Screening & Wine Tasting: Saturday, August 8th at 7:00 PM

The Hoboken Historical Museum welcomes back New Jersey’s Black Maria Film Festival. There will be wine-tasting by Cork Wine & Spirits and showings of the festivals award-winning short documentary films, including “Umbrella House,” whose director Catalina Santamaria, will be present for the Q&A session following the showing. L.A.T.H Birthday Bash: Saturday, August 8th at 9:00 PM

Performer L.A.T.H is hosting a birthday bash this Saturday. Tickets are $45 and include the performance, admission, and open bar till 12:00AM. There will be music by DJ MattMattic, DJ Chalupa, and DJ Robcast. A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Saturday, August 8th & Sunday, August 9th at 8:00PM

Mile Square Theatre‘s modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream continues this weekend. Set in the 1950’s, in the rough and tumble world of the Hoboken waterfront, Mile Square Theatre revives its critically acclaimed 2007 production of Shakespeare’s comedy of teen love, magical fairies, and clownish mechanicals. Directed by MST Artistic Director, Chris O’Connor, this production combines classic Shakespeare with our local history. This event takes place at Frank Sinatra Park  at 8:00PM. Admission is free {so awesome} so make sure to check out this amazing show.

Irving Louis Pattin Performance: Saturday, August 8th from 9:00PM-12:00AM

Lincoln Bar & Grill Presents NY Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Irving Louis Lattin. Irving writes his songs and performs a mix of rhythm, blues, pop and funk. Irving has toured in Europe, Asia, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. He sung and starred in many local and national commercials. He also performs with the best musicians in New York City. The show starts at 9:00PM. The Lincoln Bar & Grill is located at 13 Lincoln Street, Jersey City.

Nanny Hiring 101: Sunday, August 9th at 10:30 AM-12:00PM

For all the mommies and moms-to-be who are experiencing anxiety over having to hire a nanny to go back to work, do not worry. Childcare consultant Holly Flanders will be holding a class on tips for hiring the perfect nanny. The class will be head near the Pier A pavilion under the shady trees. Topics that will be discussed are where to start your search, interviewing, payment, background checks, etc. The event is BYOBB {bring your own blanket and belly}. 6th Borough Market: Sunday, August 9th from 11:00AM-5:00PM

6th borough market

The 6th Borough Market occurs every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from May- October and is a great way to spend some time outdoors enjoying time with the local community. The residents of Jersey City like to think of the “6th Borough” as a mythical place where they can have all the benefits of urban living, with less of the drawbacks. The market is located in downtown Jersey City behind Jersey Hall on Montgomery St. at Marvin Boulevard. Enjoy some delicious food, great finds, relax with friends and family, and meet new people!
