I believe the saying is “spring ahead, fall behind” right? Well my fellow HG’s, let’s do it. So long are the days of mauves and merlots, look out lilacs and corals. This week I ventured around the corner {for me at least!} to Gotham Nails located on 4th and Madison. I have been here only once before and my regular manicure lasted a full 2 weeks! I could’ve gotten lucky with my color combo and/or my manicurist {Erika}, but I figured I’d give round two a shot.
While I realize this series is MANI Monday, I couldn’t help but take advantage of their new customer promotion: $20 blowouts! What is better than that? Read on to hear all about the expanding salon, as well as my nail salon tale.
Customer Service.
The owner, Rosie, is such a pleasure to work with! I walked in a little early and she got started on my blowout right away. Using Moroccan Oil products {my fave}, Rosie double washed my hair and small talked me through the salon’s addition of a blowout station. I love the simple, all white space – a ton of natural sunlight, which was much needed for my heavy day.

Polish Selection.
Gotham has a ton of gel polish to choose from; OPI, Essie, Gelicious, and Gelish to name a few. I will say their regular polish color selection could use a makeover, but they have some good finds! They also have the full OPI Hello Kitty collection — which I absolutely ADORE. The colors are beautiful and compliment any skin tone or mood. I am not much of a pink gal, but even I am smitten with the shades.
Cleanliness.
Rosie runs a tight ship – Gotham is spick and span. Everything is kept tidy and clean; each product, polish, and tool has its own place. The counters are clear and organized, and it’s never cluttered. Coming from someone with OCD, I appreciate this practice.
Pricing.
A regular manicure is $10 and a gel manicure is $30 which is the perfect asking price for a clean and friendly salon in downtown Hoboken. I should also note, that my gel mani came right off without the usual tugging, peeling, and breaking of my nails AND there was no charge to remove the gel even though I hadn’t gone for my gel mani there previously!
Customer Service.
Rosie and her staff are so sweet! Very friendly and professional, and knowing the other salons around town that can have less-than-lovely attitudes, this was very refreshing. You won’t leave Gotham in a bad mood, that’s for sure. Straying from my normal mauve and nude tones, my spring color is showing that spring fever is REAL.
