After what seemed like the longest winter ever, we couldn’t be happier that March is finally here {snow and all}. And of course, in true Hoboken tradition, the first Saturday of March means Leprecon {formerly known as Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day} celebrations! Be sure to check out our post for tips on surviving Leprecon. It’s {finally} going to be sunny and above freezing so get out, go green, and celebrate!
There are over 20 bars participating this year in Hoboken’s St. Patrick’s Day All Access Pass, giving you discounted admission to all participating venues around town. You can choose your first stop which is also where you’ll pick up your wristband.
Our favorite hot spots to get you in the spirit this weekend:
The Turtle Club can always be counted on for delicious libations and a great atmosphere. They’re adding a traditional Irish menu which puts it at the top of our list.
Willie McBride’s is a great place to listen to live music and they’ll have Irish music playing all day long. Definitely a great way to add to the spirit of the day.
Keggs and Eggs at 8AM. Enough said.
The Stewed Cow can be counted on for an extensive whiskey drink menu and some tasty “saloon bites.” And come on, who doesn’t love a mechanical bull?
Maxwell’s has no cover charge from 10AM-noon so it’s a great option to start off your morning uptown and then make your way down Washington.
The Brass Rail is a great change of atmosphere from some of the traditional St. Patty’s spots. Enjoy a beer or a cocktail here before making your way around downtown.
Tony Boloney’s let us know via Instagram that they’re getting their green pizza ready for Saturday. Take the best pizza and town and add “a wee bit-o-whisky” and “a wee bit-o-4 leaf clover” and you’re left with the perfect Leprecon food stop.
Teak’s party is one of the untz-untz highlights of the day. They open at 9AM and are a guarantee for great music, drink specials, and lots and lots of green.
What’s a Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day without green beer? Black Bear is sure to have it for you. Head here starting at 9AM or anytime throughout the day.
The Biergarten and Kolo Club will both be open so there’s lots of room to celebrate. A bag piper will be make the rounds to set the St. Patty’s day spirit.
And of course, last but not least, heading down Irish Row is a must this weekend. These five bars will be offering drinks specials and tons of Leprecon fun.
Where will you be celebrating this weekend? Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to see you. Be safe and enjoy yourselves!
