Every year on Thanksgiving, our team reflects on the businesses that we’ve leaned on throughout the year, the mom-and-pop shops that have kept our bellies full, the doctor’s offices that have kept us healthy {especially this year}, and the boutiques that keep us clothed. The Hoboken Girl Team is thankful for many small businesses this year, and every year. After all, as a small business, we know how important it is to support each other, this year more than most. Although it is difficult to narrow down the ones we’ve felt most connected to this year, keep reading to discover what Team HG is thankful for.

Club Pilates 2023

“I’m thankful for so many businesses locally that it’s ALWAYS hard to narrow them down, but the ones that have truly helped me through 2020 from the inside out are Reiki Traveler, Acupuncture Atelier, and Acupuncture with Belinda — all healers in the truest sense of the word. I’m forever grateful for their incredible positive vibes and genuine care as small business owners!”

taqueria downtown

Hobbs Inc

“This year, I’m extremely thankful for Taqueria Downtown in Jersey City. Taqueria never wavered in their quality or quickness at the start of the pandemic. When Jersey City was allowed to offer to-go drinks, Taqueria was my #1 spot for a happy hour margarita. Stop by their colorful outdoor setup and try their chorizo quesadilla. You won’t be sorry.”

Devin, Marketing Manager

blush tan

“This year I’m thankful for Blushtan Hoboken, especially Rachael {the owner}. I’ve been going to Blushtan since the beginning of fall and she does amazing spray tans and cryo-slimming. Rachael always makes me feel so comfortable and I’ve seen amazing results so far. Plus, she has the cutest studio!”

hoboken historical museum

Today and every day, I am very thankful for the Hoboken Historical Museum. Though it is a non-profit, Bob Foster and the Museum Team manage to create the most amazing exhibits both in the main and upper gallery that highlight the artwork of local artists as well as educate visitors about local history. They also host several compelling free events, including lectures from scholars and authors several times a month. Equally, I am thankful for Grace from Studio 17 for setting me on my self-care journey.”

Taylor, Social Media Coordinator

souza fit hoboken

“We are thankful for our new go-to health food spot SouzaFit! Quarantine brought some bad eating habits out of us but Souza Fit has gotten us back on track and for that, we are beyond grateful.”

hudson yoga project

“I’m so grateful for Hudson Yoga Project and the community of teachers and students. They have continually shifted how they offer yoga classes to ensure everyone can feel safe and comfortable during these challenging times. The communication and ease of taking classes have kept me {and I bet many others} very grounded the last few months.”

“I’m thankful for Zenisalon Nail & Spa because I feel confident every time I go in that I’ll come away with a gel manicure that looks amazing. As a busy mom of two little ones, that’s one less thing for me to worry about!”

two crepes

Two Crepes is hands down my favorite go-to spot for a sweet treat in my neighborhood! Not only are they famous for their delicious crepes, but they also brew amazing, fresh coffee! It also doesn’t hurt that the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Thank you Two Crepes!”

Diana, Contributing Writer

crema coffee

“I’m thankful for Crema coffee shop that’s right around the corner from me. It’s a local favorite for those who live near McGinley Square that has a variety of baked goods, coffee, breakfast/lunch options, and even ice cream! Since I love chocolate, I love their Nutella latte and Nutella croissant. Taking a break from work to visit them during the day is a real sweet treat for me!”
