    Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably already know that the HG team is a bit obsessed with all things fall, and our 3rd annual Pumpkin Painting & Wine Tasting event was no exception. This year’s party took place at none other than The Brass Rail {a Hoboken staple located at 135 Washington Street} in the event space upstairs, which was adorably decorated–see pics below. While the event was BYOP {bring your own pumpkin, of course}, the staff at The Brass Rail provided a variety of whites and reds for the tastings throughout the night. On hand for the evening were also the lovely ladies of Art Fête, who collaborated with HG to provide painting tips, as well as all the pumpkin decorating supplies a gal could dream of–we’re talking tons of paint, glitter, sequins, stencils, and even a marbling station(!) for the more adventurous ladies and gents {yes, some fellas were in attendance!}. Here are a few more pics of the event:

    ^Super cute set-up courtesy Art Fête (thanks, ladies!)

    The Art Fête team provided user-friendly, step-by-step instructions and pointers throughout the event, as party-goers sipped and decorated their way through the night. The sold-out event was topped off with some absolutely divine pumpkin cheesecake courtesy of The Brass Rail culinary team, which party-goers enjoyed while putting the finishing touches on their masterpieces {seriously, take a look below}. There were lots of pictures and videos, because, hello, did the pumpkin decorating and wine sipping even happen if it’s not on the Gram?

    Did you miss your chance to get festive crafty? No worries–you can book the Art Fête ladies to do an on-location painting party any time of the year. Check them out on our Deals Directory for a special rate on your in-home party, BTW}. The team is available for both booze-infused adult parties and kiddo birthdays, as well as corporate events. You can learn even more about them here!

    Our second fall-themed event was Flow-in-the-Dark Yoga Halloween. We kicked off Halloween weekend with this spooky + glowy event at Local Barre West {720 Monroe St. Suite #C300} on Friday, October 27th. Hosted by Hudson Yoga Project, Kate Lombardo and Patrick Franco led the class in a “glowga” class under the black lights. Everyone wore their best neon attire, grabbed some glow-in-the-dark necklaces + body paint, and bopped to the upbeat music. After class we continued the celebration with Halloween-inspired treats from local vendors including: Insomnia Cookies, Jefferson’s Coffee, Om Sweet Home, Makai Poke, Hoboken Brewing, and EC Beauty. Check out a few cool pics from the event:

    ^Totally yummy vegan and gluten-free brownies from Om Sweet Home

    ^Seasonal Poke bowls from MaKai Poke Co.

    ^Insomnia Cookies {holy wow!}

    ^Tea, coffee, and doughnuts from Jefferson’s Coffee

    ^DJ Monopoli spinning some great tunes and even better vibes

    ^Shoutout to EC Beauty!

    Our “glowga” class was fun and energetic, perfect for all levels of yogis. Learn more about Hudson Yoga Project, check out their class schedule, and some of their great workshops by clicking here. Here are some pics of our ladies rocking the glow-in-the-dark body paint.

    Thanks for coming everyone! See you next month at our Holiday Market for Charity at the W Hotel.

    Elizabeth is a middle and high school English teacher for special education and gifted students in downtown Manhattan. Prior to teaching, Elizabeth received her B.A. in English and Secondary Education from William Paterson University along with her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from The New School. She recently returned to Hoboken after a short-lived — but refreshing — hiatus in Jersey City. When she's not teaching, tutoring, or nannying through the summer, you can find her breaking a sweat at a variety of fitness studios in Hoboken and JC courtesy of an unrelenting addition to ClassPass or, naturally, overindulging at her favorite local bars and restaurants, with Onieal's and Southouse topping the list. She, like many other basic b's in the area, can never turn down a good eyebrow threading or a perfectly chilled glass of rosé.
