Hoboken and Jersey City are known for going all-out when it comes to Halloween. In addition to the two or three-story spider webs and spooky blow-up characters that can be seen around town, this area is busy with family-friendly Halloween events leading right up to the big day. Keep reading to discover family Halloween parties and events in Hudson County.

Annual Halloween Parade 2019 at Hamilton Park  — Wednesday, October 23rd from  4:00PM-7:00PM

Come dressed and ready for a spookily good time. Children and families will be guided by stilt walkers and jugglers around the parade route, which starts at the gazebo and lasts about 45 minutes. Enjoy a DJ dance party, kids’ activities, and live performances. Food vendors will be available starting at 3:00PM for hungry monsters and princesses.

Halloween Pet Costume Walk at Hamilton Park — Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:30PM

Calling all furry friends who enjoy a good costume. Trusty Tails Pet Care has partnered with JCFamilies and Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association to put on another year of pooch-centered Halloween entertainment. Register your dog at JCFamilies online or at the HPNA’s table the day of, between 6:00PM and 6:30PM. TTPC has put together gift baskets and raffle prizes in addition to prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Best Costume winners.

Family Halloween Party and Parade in Hoboken at Shipyard Park — Friday, October 25th from 4:00PM-7:00PM

Nothing screams Halloween more than face painting, a costume parade, and magic. The Family Halloween Party at Shipyard Park is an event for everyone in the family. Connect with other families in the area and enjoy getting into the Halloween spirit. Cisco the Magician will perform a live magic show to entertain an audience of all ages. Have a great time playing carnival games, take a family picture in the Picture Corner, and overload on goodies at the popcorn and cotton candy stations. 

Fall Family Fun Day at the Hoboken Historical Museum — Friday, October 25th from 4:00PM-7:00PM

Kidville and the Hoboken Historical Museum are joining forces to put together a day full of entertainment for local families. Shipyard Park will become a venue for imagination, hands-on crafts, and a variety of activities. Dance and sing to live music and enjoy tasty treats.

Hobooken 5K + Scary Scurry Kids Race at Pier A Park — Saturday, October 26th from 10:00AM-12:30PM 

Join the Hoboken Shelter for its biggest fundraising event of the year — the Hobooken 5K. Runners can dress up in a Halloween costume to wear while they run. Since 2010 this race has impacted countless lives and this year they hope to reach a goal of $80,000. Run, support, and have fun this Halloween for a good cause.

JC Halloween Spooktacular: An Indoor Family Event at Harborside Atrium — Sunday, October 27th from 12:00PM-4:00PM

If the weather doesn’t cooperate for Halloween, this is a great event to have on the calendar. The annual Halloween Spooktacular is inside of the Harborside Atrium and makes it possible to show off your costumes, rain or shine. Compete in the costume contest, pop a few bubbles during the bubble show, and race against each other in the carnival games.

Halloween Family Bash at Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza — Thursday, October 31st from 3:00PM-7:00PM

Two words: free candy. In addition to the free candy, this family bash features a bouncy house and face painting {$5 total} and lots of fun. Children can hone their art skills with activities sponsored by HDSID, have their minds blown at a magic show, and even paint their own pumpkin.

Hoboken Ragamuffin Parade and Costume Contest in Hoboken — Thursday, October 31st at 3:00PM

A staple of Halloween in Hoboken, the Ragamuffin Parade is a must-see event at 1450 Washington Street in Hoboken. While the sun is still bright, the parade shows off all that makes Hoboken great. From school marching bands to company floats, this parade is fun for kids of all ages. Once the parade wraps up, costumed onlookers can become participants as they join the parade, showing off their character get-ups. The shops on Washington Street offer trick-or-treating to make getting candy a breeze for the kids, too.

Indoor Halloween Party at Kidville Hoboken — Thursday, October 31st from 3:45PM-5:00PM

Little monsters and goblins will have a chance to get out their wiggles in the Big Muscle Gym at Kidville this Halloween. Between face painting, music, and spooktacular art projects, every ghoul will have a haunting good time. Don’t leave without grabbing a delicious treat to celebrate Halloween. The price for members is $15 and for non-members, it is $20.
