All the Galentine’s Day Events in Hoboken + Jersey City

Written by:

Our favorite February holiday is right around the corner, and we’re not talking about the one that falls on the 14th. Enter Galentine’s Day, an unofficial holiday about friendship and women celebrating women. It has become a mainstream celebration all thanks to a Parks and Recreation episode in 2010 when Amy Poehler’s character introduces this brilliant tradition to the world. In her character’s words, “every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it breakfast style, ladies celebrating ladies.” Now, Galentine’s Day is celebrated in all different kinds of ways. Read on for a full list of ways to spend Galentine’s Day this year in Hoboken and Jersey City — with events galore.

Alexis moved to Hoboken after she graduated college in 2015 and fell in love with the area right away. She currently lives in Jersey City with her boyfriend, Ewan, and works in New York City as a fashion buyer by day and an aspiring entrepreneur by night. In her spare time, when she is not exploring the new, trendy spots around town, you will find her working out at one of her favorite local classes, singing along to the soundtrack of Wicked, or creating macrame wall art and home decor that she sells on Etsy.
