Back in early 2021, smoothie and juice bar Fruiti Fi made its debut in uptown Hoboken at 1404 Grand Street. It was one of the many spots that came as a silver lining for locals looking for new businesses after the pandemic closed so many. Recently, we got word that a second Fruiti Fi location would be opening — this one at 400 Claremont Avenue in Jersey City. Read on for what we know about the opening and more about the Mile Square location.

The New Location

Fruiti Fi’s announcement of the Jersey City location makes it the second one in Hudson County. The JC Fruit Fi will be opening at 400 Claremont Avenue in the 3 Acres apartment building, where Three Thirds Cafe also resides. The grand opening will be on Tuesday, February 14th from 12PM-7PM, where there will be featured vendors as well as free samples.

The Concept

Fruiti Fi was created by Isa. The Hoboken location was his first venture in the food industry — and as a Hoboken resident, he focuses on juices and smoothies to add to the health food scene in town.

It’s no secret that Hoboken is prime picking for businesses as the Mile Square is home to thousands of residents who love to explore new eateries in town. The same goes for Jersey City — from a new bar in The Heights to sushi spots, there’s always something new to check out.

Fruiti Fi is certainly a catchy name, and the story behind it is all about good vibes. “We wanted something fun and felt that it went with the language of wifi, Spotify, etc. But also, Fruiti Fi has an island theme — as Isa is from Trinidad — so we wanted to keep that fun vibe going,” he told Hoboken Girl back in 2021. “This also inspired our original mural painted by my very talented friend.”

The Menu

The couple understands that many people don’t want to spend hours researching nutrition or making their own juices and smoothies or your midday lunch break is just five minutes, and you’re looking for a way to feed your body with what feels and tastes good, without opting for fast-food that leaves your energy low and your body sluggish. Fruiti Fi’s mission, according to its owners, is to make it a no-brainer to choose the healthy option that you actually enjoy.

The smoothie bar has fruit-based clean juices and more. “We use a juice press from Good Nature (a juice brand), which in their words, is clean, consistent in color, contains no foam or chunks, and stays fresh for days. We offer juice that’s simple, raw, and memorable — the way nature intended.”

Smoothies that patrons can get on the menu at the Hoboken location include: the Smooth Energy (banana, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, espresso, peanut butter, ice, dates, coconut milk, cacao nibs, Himalayan salt), Kale Moss (mango, pineapple, coconut, water, lemon, mint, chia seeds, coconut nectar, kale, ice), and Protein Oats (strawberries, mango, vanilla, chia seeds, vanilla protein, ice, coconut milk, coconut nectar).

Juice options include Alkalizing  (parsley, kale, celery, apple, mint), Pre-Boost (beet, lemon, apple, ginger, cinnamon), and Immunity (pineapple, celery, kale, mint, lemon).

Also available are what the couple calls “wellness shots” — where patrons can pick up a $4 shot. A few noteworthy ones include The Liver Shot (lemon, beetroot, parsley, chlorella), The Moon (water, lemon, ACV, charcoal), and Flame (ginger, lemon, black pepper, turmeric).

Isa used to work in a gym as a personal trainer and is health-conscious so we wanted to share that with others. “We are a family business and want to promote community and family living which is why we have a special children’s menu,” he explained in 2021. The children’s menu has $6 smoothies including drinks like banana monkey milk (almond milk, banana, ice, peanut butter).
