Ah yes, Father’s Day, the day many of us celebrate the most important man {or men} in our lives — our father’s and/or father figures. Beyond getting dad or that special man in your life a clever gift, make a day out of celebrating him and how important he is to you. We’ve rounded up local spots hosting Father’s Day brunch this year so you can treat dad to a delicious meal + a special outing this year. Keep reading to find out where Father’s Day brunch {2019} will be hosted in Hoboken + Jersey City.

Hoboken

Amanda’s {908 Washington Street}

Amanda’s will be serving up its famous brunch from 11:00AM-3:00PM followed by dinner from 5:00PM-9:00PM. If you really want to impress the fam — especially dad, bring them to Amanda’s. The lemon pancakes, topped off with wild berries, whipped butter, and maple syrup are a great choice, as is the duck hash {duck confit, fresh onions, jalapeño, and hollandaise} and is also gluten-free. Reservations are a must so call soon to book a table.

Harborside Sport + Spine

Anthony David’s {953 Bloomfield Street} + Bin 14 {1314 Washington Street}

Both of these Hoboken hot spots will both be open on Father’s Day for brunch and dinner. Chef Pino’s menus are out of this world and the perfect way to celebrate dad. The wild mushroom omelet with goat cheese and roasted peppers at AD’s is a great way to start the day. The brunch at Bin 14 is another fabulous option {for $29 plus tax and gratuity} and includes zeppoles + dipping sauce, one small plate, one entrée, and one brunch cocktail. Try the smoked salmon Benedict with focaccia, lemon ricotta, and capers — it’s a tantalizing dish and we are in love with it.

Hobbs Inc

Apulia {1319 Washington Street}

This Italian eatery will be open all day from 12:00PM-8:00PM honoring dads with a menu filled with Apulian classic dishes. We strongly suggest sitting in the back patio, as it is quiet and feels like being in a restaurant in Italy. The wood-fired oven is always cooking up something special and we love a good D.O.P. pizza. Everything on the menu is top-notch and authentic. Treat dad to the polpo e burrata {roasted octopus, red pepper purée, and evoo} or the bresaola {cured beef loin, arugula, parmigiano, and evoo citronette}.

Grimaldi’s {411 Washington Street}

This local favorite will be open during normal business hours for Father’s Day from 11:30AM-10:00PM, so whether you’re looking for an early lunch or a later dinner, Grimaldi’s is the spot. Our “go to” starter is always the meatballs. The sauce is so good and we always save the leftover for dipping our pizza crust into. There is a coal fire brick oven in the back and there’s nothing better than a pizza cooked in there. Top it off with a homemade cannoli, you won’t be sorry. Bring dad to Grimaldi’s for an authentic Hoboken dining experience.

Halifax {225 River Street}

If you are looking for a riverfront view for brunch, Halifax is the spot to be. Halifax is part of The W Hotel and has a stellar menu filled with some unique and delectable dishes. The challah French toast {with maple whipped cream + almonds} is perfect for dads with a sweet tooth. Another great option is the Bubbles Brunch, which includes a bottle of sparkling wine and unlimited small plates for $35. The restaurant is truly a beautiful culinary experience and a great place to celebrate dad.

Hot House Pizza {606 2nd Street}

Hot House Pizza is a hidden gem of Southwest Hoboken. From the outside looking in, you’d never know that this locale has the cutest private backyard patio just beyond its kitchen. It is the perfect BYO spot to bring the family and enjoy your meal outdoors. The menu is filled with options, including gourmet pizzas and a chicken parm sandwich the size of the Titanic. Ralph Gallo, owner of Hot House and Cafe Sophia has created the perfect lunch and dinner spot, hidden from the hustle and bustle of Hoboken. It is definitely the perfect place to bring the fam and enjoy absolutely amazing food.

Napoli’s {133 Clinton Street}

napolis hoboken

Napoli’s is offering free brunch for dad from 11:00AM-4:00PM on Father’s Day. Bring the whole crew and enjoy a delicious meal celebrating dad at the downtown location. The restaurant will also be open after brunch until 10:00PM, but be sure to make it to brunch to take advantage of that special treat for dad. The brunch pizza is decked out in eggs, bacon, prosciutto, and so much more. We love this Hoboken local spot and know you + dad will too.

Orale {1426 Willow Avenue}

Orale is the perfect spot to bring the whole fam for some unholy Mexican food. The menu is made up of classic Mexican dishes fizzled with unique flavors. The eatery will be serving its brunch menu starting at 12:00PM and its dinner menu starting at 3:00PM. The Breakfast Nachos are a great place to start and feature a slow roasted BBQ pork, yellow habanero salsa, cheddar black beans, radish, crema + pico de gallo, and two fried eggs. If looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, the waffle parfait {Belgian waffles, whipped yogurt, fresh berries, + maple syrup} is the perfect option. Come hungry and thirsty.

Saku {936 Park Avenue}

We are loving Saku, a new-ish uptown sushi spot. For Father’s Day, Saku will be serving $1 oysters all day and night as well as $12 Japanese whiskey flights. In addition to that, the eatery will be serving brunch from 11:00AM-3:00PM and dinner from 5:00PM-9:00PM. If you happen to dine there, definitely try the seafood nachos, which include wontons, baby shrimp, kani, bay scallops, white tuna, jalapeños, guacamole, + sour cream.

The Cuban {333 Washington Street}

If it’s Cuban food that’s on your mind, then The Cuban is a great spot for authentic comida Cubana. The restaurant will open for lunch at 11:30AM and will continue until around 10:00PM that night. Start off on the right foot with croquetas de jamón, which boast the married flavors of smoked ham, sofrito, and horseradish aioli. El Cubano, which is a classic Cuban staple sandwich and features a pressed roasted pork sandwich, ham cantimpalo, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, garlic mojo, and plated with plantain chips is one of our favorite lunch menu items, as well as the ropa vieja — which quite literally translates as “old clothes” and is a twice cooked braised skirt steak with tomato pepper sauce plated with rice + beans that will have you “enamorado” {in love}.

Jersey City

Battello {502 Washington Boulevard}

battello jersey city 1

There’s nothing quite like dining on the water at Battello in Jersey City. The beautiful view is only part of the reason why it is one of our favorite spots. The menu is second to none and features some epic plates. If dining with a group, the seafood tower is a great option and includes oysters, clams, shrimp, crab, tuna tartare, and lobster. Brunch will run from 11:00AM-2:30PM and dinner from 5:00PM-9:00PM. The Wagyu beef tartare is a great way to start dinner. After the apps, the Mediterranean branzino is a popular entrée and features barlotto, green olives, sun-dried, tomatoes, tahini yogurt, and arugula pesto.

Hudson Hall {364 Marin Boulevard}

Hudson Hall is the perfect place for dad on Father’s Day. This smokehouse/Biergarten features long tables, perfect for small or large groups. The dining hall has two wall-sized screens and will be showing the US Open as well as other games that day. This locale will also have $3 Bloody Marys and mimosas as well as $1 wings, $7 pretzels, and drink specials all day. The doors will be open, letting the sunshine in. This spot is also dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your pup-brother along starting at 11:00AM.

Latham House {299 Marin Boulevard}

This great American style restaurant planted in the heart of downtown Jersey City will be open for brunch, lunch, and supper this Father’s Day. Latham House will also be offering a complimentary “Ugly Tie” cocktail to all of the dads that mention Hoboken Girl. The menu is jam-packed with breakfast and lunch options that dad will love. The chilaquiles dish is flooded with flavor and includes two fried eggs, salsa roja, pulled chicken breast, queso fresco, crema drizzle, avocado, and corn tortillas. If you’re looking for a meatless option, try the tofu scramble and avocado toast with onions, turmeric, toast with crunchy pepitas, pickled onions, potatoes.

Orale {341 Grove Street}

If you + dad are out and about in JC, head to Orale’s Jersey City location. Like its sister restaurant in Hoboken, Orale will be serving up delicious Mexican fare for you and dad {and possibly the whole family} to indulge in this Father’s Day.

Roman Nose {125 Newark Avenue}

Roman Nose will be serving up traditional Roman food from 11:00AM-10:00PM. The restaurant will be serving up its brunch menu starting at 11:00AM. We could never dismiss their classic cacio e pepe, which is one of our favorites in Hudson County and is proudly on the brunch menu. We are obsessed with the crispelle {a Roman version of zeppoles} and the frittata Caprese {tomato, homemade mozzarella, + basil}. This hidden gem is a great find and has a ton of options for all different tastes. Oh, and the restaurant gets all of its bread from Sullivan Street Bakery in Manhattan. Bellissima.

Talde {8 Erie Street}

Talde will be open during normal business hours on Father’s Day and will be offering Asian-American cuisine from its regular menu. Starting at 12:00PM, Talde will be buzzing with guests and delicious food. The Korean fried chicken with seasonal fruits, kimchi yogurt, and yu choi, is a popular choice. The pot au pho is another unique dish packed with bone-in short ribs, pickled mustard greens, carrots, potatoes, and bean sprouts. Top off your meal with a Lycheetini {St. Germaine, vodka, lychee purée, citrus bitters, and fresh lemon juice} and it will be a day to remember.

The Kitchen Step {500 Jersey Avenue}

This local eatery will be hosting brunch from 10:00AM-3:00PM and dinner from 5:00PM-9:00PM on Father’s Day this Sunday. Reservations are a must and can be made by calling 201-721-6115 in advance. Chef Ryan De Persio and Chef de Cuisine Nick De Rosa have carefully curated a modern American menu that dad is sure to love. Order a few small plates to start — the house smoked bacon is straight fire as is the PEI mussel frittes. Whether you order the RD burger or fried chicken and waffles for your entrée, you can bet you’ll be wanting more.

White Star Bar {230 Brunswick Street + 179 Warren Street}

white star bar jersey city_7864 1 1024x1024

Both Jersey City White Star locations will be open for business on Father’s Day. This local hotspot is super casual with a killer food + drink menu. The eatery prides itself on creating Jersey City’s best burger and we totally agree. Using meat from LaFrieda and bread from Balthazar, this restaurants truly make its burgers a work of art. On Father’s Day, brunch will be served from 11:00AM-4:00PM and will include tons of options as well as a burger special, which will be determined closer to the date. If you decided to indulge, the brunch burger {Black Forest ham, a fried egg, American cheese, and chipotle mayo} is a great pick.

Zeppelin Hall {88 Liberty View Drive}

Zeppelin Hall is a top-notch indoor/outdoor spot that the whole family can enjoy. This Biergarten will begin the day at 12:00PM and will be serving brunch until 4:00PM. The croque madame {a French twist on grilled ham and cheese made with Gruyère and topped with a homemade Mornay sauce, cheese, and a sunny side up egg} is the perfect brunch option. We also love the What Happened Last Night Omelet which includes jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, sautéed onions, tomatoes, chopped mushrooms, brisket, and smoked chicken topped with hollandaise sauce. Here’s hoping the weather is nice and the back patio is open. We love a good boozy brunch celebrating dad.
