Cheers to the {almost} weekend, Hoboken and Jersey City! Let’s *hope* Monday’s snow storm was, in fact, the ultimate April Fool’s joke, and that spring is actually here {even though apparently more rain/snow is on the way…}. Spring weather or not, there are a ton of events happening this weekend that we’ve rounded up for you to enjoy. Here are 11 things to do this weekend in Hoboken and Jersey City {April 5th-8th, 2018}. Jersey City Craft Brew Fest Saturday, April 21st

Snap Fitness JC

On Saturday, April 21st the Jersey City Craft Brew Fest will return to the Harborside Atrium featuring styles of craft beer. The festival will be celebrated in the spirit of Oktoberfest and feature a wide variety of fermented beers and ciders, many of which are from local breweries. Tickets give guests access to beer samples throughout the event, along with entertainment, interactive games, and a variety of delicious food options that will also be available. There are two ticketed sessions for the event. The first session from 1:00PM-4:30PM and the second session runs from 6:00PM-9:30PM. Dayna Kurtz, author of Mother Matters: A Practical Guide to Being a Happy, Healthy Mom, is offering a workshop for new mothers and mothers-to-be at Little City Books {100 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken}. From postpartum depression and baby blues to healing meals and postnatal exercise, Kurtz guides new and veteran mothers alike through the best practices to care for themselves while caring for their little ones. If you’ve ever gotten a pretty latte and wondered “how the heck do they do that?” — you can now learn yourself. Meet the Doulas Hoboken: Saturday, April 7th 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Calling all moms-to-be — think speed dating, but for a doula. BirthFocusNYC is coming to Hoboken {50 Harrison Street} to help families seek the support they need for their upcoming birth experience. The event is free and is held every first Saturday of each month. Register here.

World Autism Month Open Bar Fundraiser: Saturday, April 7th 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM

KFM Making a Difference and Hoboken Special Needs Parents Group are hosting an open bar in honor of Autism Awareness Month at Willie McBrides {616 Grand Street, Hoboken}. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to provide scholarships for students with autism to attend college via the nonprofit organization, KFM Making A Difference ran by Kerry Magro, a professional speaker who is an adult on the autism spectrum. Putting on the Glitz Drag Show: Saturday, April 7th 8:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Taught by personal trainer Pasquale Antonio, this community yoga class is to encourage health and well being {and to get out of winter hibernation}. The class will be held at the Performing Arts Workshop in Jersey City located at 196 Morgan Street. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

Comedy Night for Autism: Sunday, April 8th 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

In this 60-minute workshop, children bring stories to life through creative movement, acting, and music. The children will develop their creativity and artistic skills by making puppets or crafts that pertain to the story for their performance. This workshop is for children ages 3 to 6.
