What We Know
This past weekend, @hobokengossip posted a photo of the Midtown CVS at 811 Clinton Street in Hoboken, with a sign from the Hoboken Health Department from July 10th that read:
“The food & beverage license of this establishment has been suspended by order of the Hoboken Health Officer pursuant to Chapter 115-6 of the general ordinance code of the City of Hoboken”.

The Hoboken Girl reached out to the Hoboken Health Department for further details, in which they said this is an ongoing investigation/inspection, and redirected us to the Communications Department.
Marci Rubin, Hoboken’s Senior Communications Assistant, shared with HG that “The Hoboken Division of Health suspended the food and beverage license of CVS Store #2209, 811 Clinton Street, last week, for violating multiple codes regarding rodent infestations and adulterated food. The order, which followed inspections on July 8 and 9, required the store to remove all food and beverage items from shelving until further notice. Hoboken Health Inspector Brian Gutierrez re-inspected the store this morning, found that the violations had been addressed, and lifted the order”.
Additionally, we reached out to CVS, who told HG that the Clinton Street store “temporarily stopped selling food items last week due to a pest control issue”. The CVS rep also said that the brand “worked closely with pest control and the Department of Health to rectify the issue and passed an inspection earlier today. We expect to resume selling food items immediately.”
We called CVS’s 811 Clinton Street location to confirm that the food and beverage section was open again, which the store confirmed. We will update this post if we receive any further details.
