Flexible Hours + High-Quality Care
Parents of Lightbridge Academy students enjoy peace of mind while at work, knowing that each child is supported, loved, and cared for during the day. Lightbridge Academy offers flexible hours and is open from 6:30AM to 6:30PM — which is the earliest starting time available in uptown Hoboken.
Children enjoy private access to an on-site playground, which means there is no need to walk students to public parks. Classes are available between two and five days a week, beginning at six weeks old all the way up to five years old. Extra curricular activities are provided during the year such as soccer, gymnastics, music class, and more.
The Infant, Toddler + Preschool Programs
The Infant and Toddler Programs are the highest-toured and enrolled program at Lightbridge Academy. The lesson plans used in the Seedlings Program build on the skills each child acquires at various ages and stages of development, in accordance with the educational theories of psychologist Jean Piaget. Lessons are specifically personalized to each child to help them learn in ways that feel comfortable and natural. Child-led exploration is encouraged, and the importance of play in a child’s growth takes center stage. This approach gives preschoolers the skills and tools they need to be successful in the Kindergarten programs by supporting the developmental needs of each child. According to the 2021-2022 Vine Assessment of preschool students across key learning domains, Lightbridge Academy students tested 92% proficient in Kindergarten readiness skills The school also utilizes industry-leading programs including ParentView® Internet monitoring and a parent communication app, which provides parents with an ongoing live connection to their children during the day.
Enrollment is open throughout the year but spaces are extremely limited at the uptown location so families are encouraged to tour and reserve a spot as soon as they are ready.
The Team at Lightbridge Academy
Local residents and parents JP and Ann Alvarado are the owners of the uptown Hoboken location and have four children of their own. Ann used her passion for education as a school teacher prior to raising her own children. They wanted to give back to the community together by providing quality child care to families in need, resulting in Lightbridge Academy at 1414 Willow Avenue.
“We are so thankful to be given the opportunity to create endless memories. We pride ourselves on being the solution for working parents,” Ann Alvarado told Hoboken Girl. “We want to support our students and families every single step of the way.”
The Lightbridge Academy team is highly-qualified and passionate about what they do. The Center Director, Binita Sheth; Assistant Director, Carmen DeMichele; and Administrative Assistant, Kristimarlena Soler work together to run the center to ensure families have a seamless experience from enrollment to drop off.
The program upholds a high standard for quality of care by emphasizing the importance of safety and cleanliness within the center. The Lightbridge Academy team focuses on inspiring learning, encouraging confidence, and nourishing each child’s growth and development.
“The best part of running Lightbridge Academy is seeing the children’s smiling faces every day as they are exposed to robust curriculum through our Seedlings Curriculum Program,” Ann shared. “We also love seeing our teachers get creative in the classrooms. They are truly miracle workers, they come every day with a big smile on their faces ready to teach the children something new!”
