Sushi lover? Well then, you’ll enjoy this:
And just in case you haven’t heard, Wednesday, June 18th is National Sushi Day… aka the yummiest holiday ever! Here’s a guide of some favorite sushi spots in town to celebrate and knock out that craving.
OK, we promise we’re done with the corny jokes. Anyway, our faves:
Robongi — 520 Washington Street
Robongi is not only one of my favorite sushi places in Hoboken, but it’s also one of my top BYO spots {albeit a little “untz untz”}. Their delivery is the bomb…you really can’t go wrong. My favorite rolls are American Dream, I-Mate, Obsess, and Sweet Potato Roll alongside a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with a date or a friend.
Sushi Lounge — 200 Hudson Street
Just a couple of blocks off the PATH station, Sushi Lounge is actually the first sushi restaurant I tried when I moved to Hoboken. I highly recommend their Motown and Super Kani rolls.
Yeung II —1120 Washington Street

Little uptown hidden gem
Yeung II is a new favorite. I finally decided to visit since I pass it almost every day and I’m so upset it took me so long to try it! Such quality sushi and awesome roll options. LOVE the Spider and Spicy Scallop rolls! They also have great chicken and lettuce wraps for the faint of {sushi} heart.
Las Olas — 1319 Washington Street

From a previous visit to Las Olas
Sushi and tacos is pretty much the best combination ever, and when you add really delish sangria, you can’t really get any better. Las Olas has all of these things, and they do them all extremely well. Tasty sushi and drinks, along with surprisingly yum tacos. You can read all about a previous visit here. My favorite sushi rolls on the menu are by far On The Hudson and Mammamia.
Illuzion — 337 Washington Street
Illuzion is always busy and always delicious. Sunset Boulevard and 337 rolls are absolutely yum. Located downtown, it’s an excellent spot to take a date for this absolutely awesome holiday.
Or maybe you would like DIY sushi? Here’s where you can buy supplies for making your own sushi:
Battaglia’s Home — 1414 Willow Avenue
Tons of kitchen products–you’re sure to find the perfect materials for making your own sushi.
Copper Kettles — 536 Washington Street
Adorable rustic-looking products–also a great spot for gift shopping!
And finally, here’s a DIY sushi guide. You’re welcome!
