New Curricular Enhancements at TESSA
As the TESSA school continues to grow, it recently announced a range of exciting new academic features and initiatives it plans to start implementing this September. Some of these carefully designed enhancements include:
Math + STEM Coordinator – The addition of a full-time math and STEM coordinator in both Early Years and Primary School will help to provide individualized programs that enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Fortified by a partnership with the Liberty Science Center, this program will allow children to engage in carefully designed, hands-on experiences in math, science, and beyond, giving students an edge for the next step in their educational life.
English Language Instruction – Being a bilingual school, the continued strengthening of English language instruction will continue to help students refine literacy and language skills beyond grade level.
Music Teacher – An experienced music teacher specializing in instrumental and dance instruction will join the staff this year. The curriculum will focus on various musical styles and instruments as well as fostering skills and appreciation for music.
Physical Education Teacher – A Physical Education teacher will also join the TESSA team this year, focusing on fitness, coordination, teamwork, and fun. Students will be exposed to a range of sports as well as access to two gym spaces including the Jackson Street gym and the school’s Octagon Room.
Library Program – In addition to the recently opened library, TESSA will continue to foster an early love for reading by providing access to a wide range of literature in different languages through reading challenges, book clubs, and author visits.
Extracurricular Clubs – In addition to the academic advancements at TESSA, Primary students will also be able to join free after-school clubs in foreign languages, math, literacy, science, and technology. Students will also be able to take part in school-wide athletics, arts, music, fencing, Bollywood dance, and more.
Transportation – In order to make TESSA accessible, the school will be providing transportation services to students who live in the Port Imperial area and will continue to expand as the year progresses.

Upcoming Events + Summer Camp
The staff at TESSA International School will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, June 3rd at 9:30AM. The session will allow families to explore the campus, visit their state-of-the-art facilities, learn about the different educational programs, and meet the TESSA Team.
The school is also running a Summer Camp program from June 26th to August 25th. The ‘Fun, Friends, + Discoveries’ program will run for nine weeks and will allow children to enjoy language immersion programs in Spanish, French, or Mandarin. Children age 2 to 9 will explore a range of fun, multi-sensory interactive activities with their teacher in the target language. With fun themes each week, TESSA Summer Camp will utilize the school’s three-floor facilities, as well as its playground and large adjacent plaza.
Weekly registration for Summer Camp is available and will take place Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:00PM. Half-day summer camp options are also available from 8:30AM to 12:00PM. Registration for TESSA Summer Camp is per week with a minimum of two consecutive week’s enrollment for the half-day option. After Care is also available for summer campers until 6:00PM.
