The hours of sunlight may be getting shorter each day, but that doesn’t mean our happy hours are, too. From pumpkin carving to Zombtoberfest, here’s what’s in store for you with the best Hoboken and Jersey City happy hours of the week:

Monday – October 16th

Pick Your Fall-Themed Terrarium at Northern Soul {Hoboken}

Come out to Northern Soul {700 1st St.} for their monthly plant night. The same fun and dirt as always, but fall-themed, of course. Throw some mini pumpkins or a tiny skeleton in your terrarium while enjoying Northern Soul’s food and drink menu. Get your tickets here.

Tuesday – October 17th

Gangsta’s Paradise Taco Party at Gringo’s Tacos {Jersey City}

Hobbs Inc

Tacos are delicious and hip-hop music will make you want to dance, so join the party at Gringo’s Tacos {12 Coles St.} this Tuesday night for a live performance, three for $10 tacos, and great drink specials. Doors will open at 5PM but the fun starts at 7Pm. Call {201} 389-4110 to reserve a table.

Open Mic Direct to Vinyl Night at Maxwell’s Tavern {Hoboken}

This is not an ordinary open mic night at Maxwell’s, {1039 Washington St.} because Leesta Vall Sound Recordings will be there to record your performance directly to vinyl. For only $15, you will be able to take home a 7″ vinyl pressing of your performance. Performers will sing twice, once to set levels and the second time to record. They want to get as many recordings as possible so get there early. The event will start at 8PM, first come first serve.

Wednesday – October 18th

Pumpkin Carving at 8th Street Tavern {Hoboken}

8th Street Tavern {800 Washington St.} is having their second annual pumpkin carving event this Wednesday. Get creative with your carvings, all supplies will be provided. Fall-themed beer and cocktails will be served.

Docktails at Liberty Harbor Marina {Jersey City}

Sailors NYC is hosting their last “docktails” of the season. Come down to Liberty Harbor Marina {11 Marin Blvd.} at 6PM for a night of drinks, small bites, beautiful views, and a tour of the sailboats. There will be no charge for Sailors NYC members and a $15 fee for guests. Sign up here.

Thursday – October 19th

LSC After Dark: Zomtoberfest at Liberty Science Center {Jersey City}

Beer and… brains? That’s right, zombies are coming to the Liberty Science Center {222 Jersey City Blvd.} for Zomtoberfest. At this LSC After Dark Halloween event, you can expect craft beer from local breweries, food vendors, a sangria bar, spooky experiments, and so much more. Get all the gory details and tickets here. Skunktown Distillery Tasting at Cork Wines and Spirits {Hoboken}

You’re invited to the ultimate distillery tasting at Cork Wines and Spirits {1450 Washington St.}. Guests can look forward to samples of spicy vodka, oaked rum, apple pie moonshine, and even more. The tasting will run from 5-8:30PM.

Friday – October 20th

Grand Opening at Hudson Hall {Jersey City}

Join Hudson Hall {364 Marin Blvd.} for their grand opening on Friday. Starting at 4PM, there will be a ribbon cutting with Mayor Fulop followed by a live performance by Steve and Johnny of Burlap to Cashmere. We suggest going on an empty stomach because there will be $5 house beer and $10 pastrami sandwiches all night.

Robert Hill Band Live at Pilsener Haus {Hoboken}

The Robert Hill Band is live at Pilsener Haus {1422 Grand St.} on Friday night. Head over for great music, tasty drinks, and free admission. The show starts at 9PM.

Saturday – October 21st

Boos + Brews Halloween Bar Crawl {Hoboken}

Halloween is starting early, and we’re all for it. Get your costumes ready for the Boos and Brews Halloween Bar Crawl on Saturday. This bar crawl will feature some of the best venues in Hoboken, food and drink specials, and an awesome live performance by Lectro Raiders LED Robots. Go here for ticket info.

The Ghost of Uncle Joe’s at the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery {Jersey City}

Rock-it Docket and the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery are hosting their annual Ghost of Uncle Joe’s Halloween Costume Ball and Fundraiser. Yes, you read that correctly — this is a rock show in the cemetery. There will be food, beer, and great prizes for the best costumes. Entry to this event is a $10 donation to help restore and preserve the cemetery.

Sunday – October 22nd

Hoboken House Tour {Hoboken}

The 31st Annual Hoboken House tour will feature nine beautiful homes and condos plus seven special bonus stops along the way. The homes will be open from 10AM to 4PM so you will have plenty of time for the self-guided tour plus time to stop at one of the restaurants on the way. The tour booklet includes info on each home and a map of all the bonus stops. This is an ideal Sunday adventure. Get your tickets here.

Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert at LITM {Jersey City}

Out of the Margins Artist Alliance and Brockman’s Gin are putting on a benefit concert at LITM {140 Newark Ave.} as a fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Irma. Sing along with some of NY and NJ’s most talented performers, grab some food and drinks, and help out the people that need it the most. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 and the show starts at 9PM.

Sneak Preview Event {Hoboken}

Kick off your Halloween weekend with us on Friday, October 27th at our Flow-in-the-Dark Yoga Halloween event. We’re teaming up with the Hudson Yoga Project for this special yoga event held at Local Barre West {located in the Monroe Center, suite #C300}. The event will run from 7:30-10:30PM. Check-in will start at 7:30PM and the 8PM glowga class will take place under black lights with upbeat music. Afterwards, we’ll continue the celebration with some Halloween-inspired treats from local vendors.
