    The açaí berry is native to the Brazilian Amazon, where locals have been enjoying antioxidant-rich açaí bowls since, well, since whenever they first discovered that this berry would be delicious in a nutrient rich bowl. A smoothie-like bowl mixture topped with fruits, with your choice of nut butter or sweet drizzle and a layer of fruit {and usually coconut}, it’s easy to see why these little bowls of heaven have gotten so popular. Hopping on the bowl bandwagon, Jersey City has some delicious açaí bowls that make for a nutritious and filling breakfast or lunch. To save you some time and energy, we’ve rounded up the best açaí bowls found in Jersey City for your morning/afternoon/anytime routine:

    Only available during weekend brunch, The Cliff has the best açaí bowl in all of Jersey City! The decor of this spot boasts summer vibes all year round, so you can enjoy your açaí bowl in the beautiful courtyard. Made of an açaí, banana, and coconut milk base, the bowl is topped off with raspberry, blackberry, strawberry, kiwi, chia, coconut shavings and bee pollen. You can request that it be made vegan {without the bee pollen} as well.

    2. Squeez’d {300 Coles Street, JC}

    Located inside of 8 Springs Studio in the Cast Iron Lofts, Squeeze’d has açaí bowls that make for the perfect post-workout recovery snack. You can choose how you want to top off your bowl: bananas, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, pineapple, granola and/or coconut flakes. These açaí bowls are then drizzled with organic almond butter. You can also add vegan protein powder to your bowl for a little extra $ to make it a full-fledged protein-rich meal.
