    EXTRA

Woof! Howdy! My name is Extra, and I am a six year old American Bulldog mix. I’m a medium-sized lady {I weigh just under 50 lbs} with gorgeous white fur, a freckled nose, and cow spots. I am told that I’m extra cute. 🙂

I was recently brought to the shelter as a stray dog. It seems like I hadn’t been exposed to much in my previous home. I am a total sweetheart — just a good and loving girl, through and through! — but when I am out on a walk, I can sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by the world. Luckily, my human friends here have been working with me, and I am now easily walking past noises, distractions, and even other doggies. I’ve made wonderful progress … yippee!

I did a great job on my behavior evaluation, showing myself to be a friendly, easygoing lady. I readily share all my food and treats, and I am quite tolerant of all handling. When I’m indoors and not distracted by the big, wide world, I am wiggly and fun loving. I lean in for pets and cuddles, and then I’m ready for activity and fun! I have an energetic streak, so I’d do well in an active household. If children are involved, I think I’d do best with teenagers … especially if they like to snuggle!

It looks like I have had little experience socializing with other dogs. I can occasionally get distracted by other pups while out on a walk, but I am becoming much more comfortable.Although I could not live with a dog now, my human friends are hoping that with continued practice, I will become even more relaxed with my fellow pups. I will keep working on it!

    ELLE

Hello there! My name is Elle! I am a four year-old female Pitbull Mix. Even though I am lucky to have been taken in and cared for by my friends at the Liberty Humane Society, I would love to be a part of a loving family and get a lot of belly rubs!

    TOOTSIE

    tootsie

Woof! Hello there, friends! My name is Tootsie, and I am an 18 month old American Bulldog mix. I’m a tall, lean girl {I weigh 53 lbs} with white fur and an adorable black eye patch. Hehe … some of my friends say I look like a furry pirate. Ahoy! 🙂

I am a sweet young lady who is still learning about the world. I have a medium energy level and can be a bit bouncy in my cage, but outside the shelter, my manners are very good. I walk nicely and can even sit on command. I also easily share all my food, toys, and treats. I am a good little girl!

I feel a bit stressed in the shelter, so it can sometimes be hard for me to focus my attention. Once I set my paws outside the door and relax a little, I have shown myself to be an affectionate, easygoing, confident lady. I really enjoy meeting new people … it turns out that I am a social butterfly at heart!

I would do well in a home with older children / teens and adults. I hope my new family enjoys long walks and cuddling, because those are two of my favorite activities!

Do you have a doggie at home? I am learning to be better socialized with my fellow pups. I can sometimes be reactive toward other doggies, but when I am allowed the chance to meet them, I do well. With doggie companions, I have a pushy, super playful personality, so I would need a doggie friend who could accommodate my style. If this sounds like your pup, please bring him or her along when you come to visit me.

Thanks for reading all about me. This cute girl with the heart of gold can’t wait to meet you. Let’s make that happen soon!
