Written by:

Our friends at Wise Animal Rescue have a new furry friend to introduce {who’s ready to be adopted right now!}. Meet Canelo, who was surrendered to Wise Animal Rescue at 10 months of age because his owner wasn’t able to care for him anymore. Right now he’s being fostered in Hoboken. Here’s a bit more about this adorable little dachshund-chihuahua mix that is ready for his forever home:

Canelo, Spanish for cinnamon, is looking to spice up your life with his fun personality! He is a just a baby at only 10 months old and would make a great addition to any sized household as he only weighs about 12 pounds.

While his life started out in the wrong hands, we are now excited to find him his real forever family! He is such a good dog and deserves a loving home.

This little guy has lots of spunk. He never fails to make someone’s day better. His favorite activities include cuddling, giving kisses, and chasing his toys. Canelo enjoys playing with his foster siblings and his favorite toys are anything with a squeaker! He does great with kids, cats, and other dogs. What more could you ask for!?

Canelo is house-trained and crate-trained. He also walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands. He is very proud of how well he can do “sit!” Canelo’s foster reports that he listens very well and has been a pleasure in the house.
