Adoptable Dog: Duke, The Lovable Silky Terrier

Written by:

Meet Wise Animal Rescue’s newest adoptable dog, Duke. Duke is a Silky Terrier, weighs about 15 pounds, and is about 6 or 7 years old. He is full of life and loves playing with toys and running around his foster’s home with his two fur-siblings. This guy is extremely affectionate, likes being pet and held, and gets along well with cats, children, and other dogs. Read on to learn more about him and how you can make him part of your family {he’s ready to adopt NOW!}:

The rescue has been asked many times how such a perfect little guy ended up with them, and we aren’t so sure ourselves. His family had him for a long time but decided they no longer wanted a pet. Fortunately, prior to being surrendered, his family had taken very good care of him. Duke’s coat is shiny and beautiful, his pearly whites look great, he is up-to-date on shots, and neutered. Duke is by no means a middle-aged guy, he is a real puppy at heart — really the leader of the social brigade.

It seems that his previous family did do some training with Duke. He is potty-trained, doesn’t mind the vet or grooming, and sleeps in his own bed at night. Duke is also not destructive when left alone. He’s a royally great dog!

Duke’s foster mom cannot express enough how much he loves to play. If he sees or hears a toy, he immediately perks up and goes on a hunt to find the toy. He would love join you for a nice walk or a game of fetch.

For the fashion-enthusiasts: Duke looks great in raincoats, sweaters, and other doggy-wear. He seems to really enjoy rocking and showing off his newest outfits, as evidenced above and below.
