Let’s be honest, it can be hard sometimes to find a place for parents, friends or family to stay in the tiny mile-square of Hoboken. Founded in NYC 10 years ago by husband and wife duo Toivo and Eunju Kim Halvorsen, and with locations in Hoboken and Jersey City, Dharma Home Suites provides the ideal getaway for friends, family, or colleagues {and would be an excellent destination for that ~staycation~ you’ve been planning}. Locations and Amenities
With multiple locations in both Hoboken and Jersey City, Dharma Home Suites has all your Hudson County housing needs covered. The Hoboken Girl team got a chance to check out Dharma’s locations at 1414 Grand {Dharma Home Suites Hoboken at The Novia} and 1101 Grand, and we must say…they are truly what apartment dreams are made of.
First, we got a tour of the Novia building, starting with the rooftop. The sprawling outdoor space offered unencumbered views of Manhattan and Hoboken, with plenty of room to enjoy coffee in the morning or have a glass of wine with friends or family on a weekend in Hoboken. Next, we moved downstairs to take a look at a 2-bedroom apartment. Fully and beautifully furnished with state-of-the-art appliances and houseware, each suite is upscale and chic while still feeling charming and comfy. Most Dharma Home Suites locations have a range of 1, 2, or 3-bedroom spaces with king, queen, and single-sized bed options, depending on needs, making it ideal for a business trip or family vacation.
Each apartment is uniquely decorated in a Feng Shui fashion with contemporary décor and large windows that bring tons of natural light and views of Hoboken and NYC into the space. Wood floors, stunning backsplashes and countertops, and top of the line appliances {including W&D, dishwasher, full fridge, Nest Learning Thermostats, and kitchen utensils galore} ensure that you’ll never ever want to leave. Also adding to that comfort are luxurious rooms outfitted with soft beds, Aveda toiletries, and walk-in closets {!!!!}.
On to the Dharma Home Suites at Grand location — which was every bit as welcoming and upscale as Novia. Upon entering the suite, it was obvious that it was outfitted with the same top-of-the-line décor and utilities, with this apartment boasting a funkier vibe with fun pops of color, plant life, and art that looked like it came from travels abroad. This space, also a 2-bedroom, had a large private terrace that was ideal for relaxing or entertaining guests. The 1101 Grand entrance also just so happens to be located directly next to café Dolce & Salato, where it’ll be hard to resist grabbing coffee and a treat.
Both of Dharma’s featured Hoboken locations are conveniently located within easy walking distance to some of our favorite bars, restaurants, workout studios, and grocery stores. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re just a quick 15-minute ride into midtown Manhattan by bus, ferry, or train.
Dharma also boasts several locations in Jersey City, including a beautiful property at Exchange Place, which features the same exquisite amenities as well as a fitness center, rooftop deck and lounge {with a front-row view of Manhattan}, and kid’s playroom. During your stay with Dharma, they’ll provide 24-hour help, turndown service after seven days, and green cleaning services.
Options & Pricing
The minimum stay at Dharma locations is three nights and they are also a certified member of the Corporate Housing Providers Association (CPHA) offering extended stay rates as well, providing a great option for people who may be working in NYC or the surrounding area for an extended amount of time.
Dharma, an Airbnb partner, also provides short-term rental management services. For instance, if you are a resident of Jersey City or Hoboken and live in an upscale, amenities-rich apartment complex that allows short-term rentals, you can hire Dharma to manage your Airbnb account. Their experienced team will handle creating a quality listing, rent out your unit at the best price, manage guest stays, and keep your apartment tidy with professional housekeeping, while keeping you fully informed and compliant with building/city regulations. All you do is collect a check and figure out how to spend/invest your rental income.
So it goes with all hospitality options, prices of the suites fluctuate, but can be directly compared to hotels or other lodgings in the area {and we personally believe you definitely get more bang for your buck}.
