Proposal season is officially upon us and per usual, we’re helping out our fellow fiancé/ées with some wedding planning. If the dream of getting married is on the waterfront (whether it be a big or small occasion), we are surrounded by venues that have breathtaking New York City skyline views. So for our bride and grooms-to-be, we’ve created the ultimate list of wedding venues in Hoboken and Jersey City with a view of New York City.

Hoboken

With a sweeping panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline, this penthouse space is like a blank canvas awaiting a creative touch. The space has floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light, high ceilings, and a gorgeous wrap-around terrace. The venue starts off wonderfully on its own, and it’s easily customizable to fit each couple’s personality. The team will help take care of everything from entertainment to flowers to music to photographers — and everything else in between. Catering is also available from the team of Antique Bar + Bakery in Hoboken.

Situated right on the Hudson River, guests can expect an upscale wedding scene with all of the bells and whistles. The chic and luxe hotel provides an all-inclusive wedding complete with rooms for guests to stay in and a gorgeous area for a day after breakfast. With a wall of windows, a ceiling full of skylights, and a modern, elegant vibe, this venue provides a truly customizable experience for the bride and groom. Couples can book the Great Room venue, which has a space for up to 230 wedding guests.

With sweeping views of the New York City Skyline, Battello brings a variety of Italian-American cuisine to its guests right on the pier of the Newport Marina. Hyatt House | 1 Exchange Place

We love the multifaceted vibe at many of these waterside hotel locations. A hotel is a way to go for a couple with many traveling guests, and The Hyatt does not disappoint — it’s glamorous, welcoming, and oh-so magnificent with windows leading out to a private patio overlooking downtown for guests to enjoy. If looking for a more intimate wedding celebration for 10 guests or more at Hyatt House Jersey City, the team can assist with audiovisual requirements, catering services, and anything else needed for the big day.

Contemporary with clean lines and a focus on panoramic views, Hudson House is situated at the end of Port Liberte in Jersey City. This venue is an arm’s length away from the Hudson River and boasts a panoramic view of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Verrazano Bridges, and of course the NYC skyline. Its Grand Ballroom hosts 400 guests and is surrounded by cathedral ceilings and chandeliers.

Located right in the heart of Liberty State Park, this venue has some of the best panoramic views of downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. This rustic yet posh location has two event rooms and an outdoor area with views unlike any other. Many couples choose to hold their ceremony right on site — because who wouldn’t want to tie the knot with a backdrop like that? A wrap-around veranda encloses Liberty House and leads to an even more picturesque outdoor area complete with roaring fire pits, private gardens, and outdoor seating + tables. A carefully crafted farm-to-table menu is served to guests and boats endless possibilities for creating the most perfect wedding day for all guests.

Creative hub by day and lavish wedding venue by night, the grounds of the Liberty Science Center are perfect for the couple looking for something out of the ordinary. The grounds alone are just stunning, with the backyard right on the harbor of Liberty State Park. This truly contemporary space provides both indoor and outdoor options for ceremonies and receptions. Imagine tying the knot under the 18-foot Hoberman Sphere or enjoying the totally customizable Governors Hall. We are in awe of the Observation Tower, which, as LSC describes, is a ”pyramid of glass set atop the Liberty Science Center’s 170-foot-high tower.” With 360-degree panoramic views of New York, The Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island, this venue is unforgettable.

Previously known as Casino in the Park, this venue has been an entertainment hub since its opening in 1950 — where it played host to celebrity and political figures like Frank Sinatra and former President Bill Clinton. It has since been revamped to The View at Lincoln Park as of spring 2023 and is now an indoor event venue. Weddings can be hosted in its grand ballroom, which holds 225 guests.
