December is in full swing, and that means that our first-ever Hoboken Holiday Market for Charity is right around the corner! Come out to W Hoboken {225 River St.} on December 19th from 6-10PM for a wonderful night of shopping from ahhhmazing local vendors {24 of them to be exact – all local boutiques and Etsy shops!}. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the Dustin and Daniel Friedland Scholarship Foundation. Creator, Andrea Maiolano, is a Hoboken resident and a lifelong Hudson county girl who has been in business working with locals and in her Etsy shop for over 10 years. She loves designing and personalizing items especially themed towards celebrating the city we love. From wine glasses to other fun goodies, they have something for every Hoboken girl’s shopping list this holiday season.

They offer vegetarian, paleo, and gluten-free options and specialize in making real food that’s insanely delicious. They’ll be selling gift packs, gift cards, and lots of delicious treats.

Charley & Hudson

Founded in 2015, C&H features t-shirts for kids and adults, onesies for babies, and an assortment of other apparel and accessory items all of which showcase our area – namely Hoboken, Jersey City and JC Heights.

C&H doesn’t have a brick and mortar storefront of its own, but sells their goods at local craft fairs and has a few partnerships with other local shops including Washington General Store, Noellery, West Elm, and Little City Books.

Charley & Hudson has continued to expand its portfolio of products to keep up with demand. The assortment currently includes tank tops, raglans, long sleeve tees, hoodies, scarves, pillows and dresses for lil girls — all featuring unique concepts and designs.

Daddy’s Little Dress Shirts

Daddy’s Little Dress Shirts takes daddy’s dress shirts, or really a dress shirt from anyone special, and makes beautiful little dresses and rompers from them for the little ones; in a way, they create family heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. They have made incredible clothing from service men, police, passed relatives, you name it and each one always has its own special story! All pieces are cut and handmade by Maria Cielo, owner and founder, right here in Hoboken and are crafted with the highest attention to detail. Maria will have several samples available for immediate sale the night of the event, but mostly will be selling gift certificates for the entire process at a discounted price.

Utilizing vintage and custom made guitar picks, evil eye charms and edgy spikes, best friend designers Chantel Gia and Mj Carlson create bold bracelets and necklaces for men, women and even matching pieces for kids.

Chantel is based in LA, MJ is based here in Hoboken and all their jewelry is handcrafted in New York City. They combine their favorite aspects of east and west coast fashion into an aesthetic that is all their own.

People Stylewatch named them one of their favorite ‘celeb loved brands.’ Their pieces have been spotted on everyone from Vanessa Hudgens to Gerard Butler.

El Mercado Peru

Conceived by NY based Peruvian designers Michelle Peglau & Andrea Bocchio in 2015, the duo aims to lift the veil into the Peruvian experience, beyond what one’s first thoughts about Peru may be.

Working directly with artisans, Peruvian brands and US based Peruvian designers, they curate a selection of items that include: luxurious alpaca knits for men and women, handmade toys for children, pet accessories, handmade llama themed stationery, felted alpaca tech accessories, and much more.

Katie Perez is an illustrator, artist, and designer based in Jersey City. By day she works an office design job across the Hudson, and by night and on weekends, she works on making art and products that make people smile. She started Katie Pea Studio out of a love of doodling cute things and sharing them with others.

MaryAnna Coleman Design

MaryAnna Coleman is a New Jersey-based artist working primarily in watercolors and charcoal. Her whimsical style reflects her affinity for color and pattern, and customers are often drawn to the level of detail in her paintings. MaryAnna’s work is influenced by her travels, architecture, children’s books and love of animals (especially dogs and birds!). She frequently works on commission, with particular success in portraits of homes, gardens, wedding scenes, pets and popular venues and restaurants like Pete’s Tavern and Parker House. Prints of these places as well as a few original paintings will be for sale, in addition to other animal and subject based works. Currently, MaryAnna is busy with wedding and anniversary-related commissions, designing custom crests, engagement announcements, “Save the Date” notices and invitations. She has also produced prints of her original artwork, as well as custom note card and stationery designs. MaryAnna’s work has been seen in Town & Country, West Elm pop-up shops and “The Scout Guide.” Most recently, New York Times best-selling author Louise Penny commissioned MaryAnna to design and create the end papers in her latest book, “Glass Houses.”

The shop is open 7 days a week and is located at 19 McWilliams Place in Jersey City. At the shop they offer a full line of ice cream pints, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes ready to pick up or available for pre-order through their website.

Their ice cream truck or ice cream cart can be found throughout the summer at local fairs and festivals and and both are available to rent for your next event.

Milk Sugar Love will be selling mini ice cream cones at the event in a choice of 3 seasonal flavors: Chocolate Peppermint, Milk ‘n’ Cookies and Coquito.

Most importantly – they’re proud to donate a portion of the profits from all items with a heart to congenital heart defect research.

OurWholeHeart started just over a year ago while creator Danielle was recovering from unexpected open heart surgery. Just as her whole family was by her side during that rocky stretch, they’ve completely given everything to help out with this business. They design and make all of the jewelry by hand, so the jewelry truly comes “from the heart.”

The first product that started this business was Body Buddies, organic hot/cold compresses that come in many different prints — and are filled with organic corn. Lastly and most recently, they have added their silk floral arrangements as part of the Peppers & Poppies business. Compassion has been baked into the business model since day one, and a portion of all profits goes straight to education-based charities. At the upcoming market, they’ll be taking orders for their monogrammed blanket scarves, berets & bandanas that’ll also include free local delivery by Saturday 12/23, and they will have plenty of other fun accessories for sale on the spot, such as stackable initial rings, constellation jewelry, and other personalized goodies.

Sugarsuckle is a custom cake and dessert studio coming to the southwest neighborhood of Hoboken {started by a Hoboken resident!}. The studio will serve as the space for cake consultations as well as a gathering space for classes, workshops and private lessons and will open in the spring of 2018.

They regard pure and authentic ingredients to be the foundation of excellent flavor and quality. They strive for nuanced desserts with balanced sweetness and understand that artificial extracts and imitation butter have no place in their recipes, as they can never quite achieve the aroma and taste one expects from high-quality desserts. They truly embrace the creative ethos of “less is more” in their designs. The Lucky Honey Bee

The Lucky Honey Bee is an eco-friendly candle & soap company based in the Heights neighborhood Jersey City, NJ. Each candle is hand poured blend of soy wax, beeswax, phthalate free fragrances, and essentials oils. Apothecary goods include soaps, balms, and luxurious bath products that crafted in small batches using all natural ingredients.

Their mission is to keep our products, the ingredients, and packaging as earth-friendly as possible. Each one of our supplies are sourced with a great deal of thought, from domestically produced wax, to ethically sourced essential oils, to utilizing recycled content for packaging.

Victoria Miritello Photography focuses primarily on black and white photography. Her photography ranges from abstract themes to realistic landscapes, however the body of her work withholds common threads of texture, color contrast, and extreme cropping, throughout the body of her work. Victoria {a Hoboken resident} wishes to challenge the viewer’s perspective to search for the inherent beauty that exists within everything; a philosophy she wishes to capture in each photograph. The subjects of her work often go unidentified, and perceived as things they are not. Victoria hopes to spark conversation by creating pieces that elicit mystery and intrigue.

Her abstract photography can be rotated and displayed in any direction. Victoria finds fascination in how each mind is wound differently and feels that this is part of the wonder her art provides. Victoria will be selling her photography prints, and one-of-a-kind custom framed pieces.
