Eyelash extensions have been all the rage for the last few years, but for those who aren’t ready to take the plunge, a lash lift is a viable next step on the beauty train. At EC Beauty {located at 80 River Street, Suite 2A in Hoboken}, the spa offers YUMILashes Keratin Lash Lift & Tint, which is known as the “world’s first and best keratin lash lift”. Jen of Hoboken Girl recently went to Christine at EC Beauty for this treatment and is sharing all about it:

What It Is:

YUMILashes safely lifts your natural lashes and has the most dramatic and long-lasting results with absolutely no harm to your natural lashes.

How Long Does it Last?

According to Christine, the results last 8-12 weeks. For me, the results lasted about 7-8 weeks {but slowly fell out naturally}.

Who is a Good Candidate for This?

If your lashes are long and full but not curled, you’re a great candidate. If you have a scarce amount of lasheslash extension may be a more viable option.

More About the Product

YUMILashes product is made in France and is cruelty-free, hypoallergenic, and formaldehyde free.
Jen’s Experience, According to Jen:
I’ve gotten my lashes extended numerous times, and it was time for something a bit different. Since I have a decent amount of lashes and lash length, Christine said I was a good candidate for the treatment.

^^ Before…. [pardon the thick and not so cute eyeliner]
In total, it took about an hour from start to finish — with similar preparation to regular eyelash extensions (taping up the lids, etc.). There is a glue that is applied, and after application, the treatment starts. While the specific process is a slight mystery as I was laying there eyes closed {DON’T open your eyes whatever you do!}, it was relatively pain-free {but if you open your eyes at all you may feel a bit of stinging/burning – which I did by accident – OOPS!}. Christine was super accommodating and helped me through the process, explaining the steps and what she was doing.

^^ After {mind you – these were still wet!}
After about 45 minutes to an hour, the treatment was complete. After a look in the mirror, I was pleasantly surprised that my once hidden lashes were now curled up and poppppin. No more falsies needed! I LOVED it. Christine recommends not getting your lashes wet for about 48 hours post-treatment.

Maintenance:

Christine shared that coming back every 2-3 months is ideal for the treatment.
The really nice part about an eyelash lift is that you don’t have to worry as much about getting your eyes wet and you can wash your face normally {with regular lash extensions, it’s not the case and can actually ruin them so this is a definite lifestyle upgrade for lash lovers}.
I will say that my lashes looked amazing for about a month, and then as expected, they naturally fall out and start to return to their normal direction. Similar to needing eyelash extensions {but with longer in between time!}, you’ll have to schedule a time to come back and get them redone.

Pricing

For an eyelash lift at EC Beauty, it’s $150. Totally worth it  — even if just for a special occasion or holiday season when you’re in the mood for a little pick-me-up. Word on the street is that for post-Thanksgiving weekend, they’re doing these for $100 per treatment. And no, this isn’t sponsored — just awesome.
